In my opinion, Tulsa community college is one of the best community colleges in Oklahoma. If you apply for the Tulsa achieves scholarship your senior year of high school, you can get up to three years free of school! I think that is one of the main reasons why I love this school. There are also many other reasons as to why I love this school. Some of those reasons would be; how nice the campuses truly are, how accessible the professors are and how they really love their jobs, how easy it is to ask for help because of all the resources they provide, including tutoring, which really helped me with chemistry, and so many more things. Another perk is that I am saving money by living at home since it is not far from campus which I know I will thank myself in the future. Overall, TCC is and amazing option for college and I think it is something everyone should consider.

Vaughn - 08/04/2024

I took concurrent classes with TCC back in high school and it prepared me well for college life. I am attending this school to attain my associates so that I can move on and earn my bachelors. The student community of TCC is lively and diverse, they offer many events for student interaction. All of the professors I have had have been helpful and understanding, always checking in on me if there is something amiss. I haven' t gone here long but I met my best friend through this school and have learned how to be a good student!

Madison - 04/01/2024

Going to TCC is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I came from outside of Tulsa with not a lot of money, and just wanted to go to college to at least try to learn some things, and I was very scared. I made it past the first semester, which I wasn't even sure if I would do or not, and I'm now going into my fifth semester. I have found so many great people through this place and gained so many valuable skills. All of my theatre professors are some of the best mentors I've ever worked with, and they have made the experience worthwhile. My professors outside of my major have been wonderful as well. The student body, although large, is very diverse and is full of great people. The college is a very good space for people who want to work their way up in the career they want. I have gotten a lot of great mentorship and attention I may not get at a four-year college. I love this college so much and I am very grateful that it is an option to me and many others.

My opinion is that it is a great college and helps you not go into college debt.

  3. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

I think TCC is rather high-quality for being a community college. Most community colleges are looked down upon kind of, because they're cheaper and things like that, but I think TCC sounds better than a regular 4-year university. I haven't been to one yet, but none of the classes exceed 30 people. All of the professors I've had are enthusiastic with their fields and supportive of the students. I haven't really been to any other community colleges, so I can't really say it's unique, but it definitely stands out to me.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I consider the long waiting list to speak with a counselor at Tulsa Community College to be the worst thing about my school. Despite dispersing a student body across 4 campuses Tulsa Community College still suffers from a 60-150 minute wait to talk with an academic counselor, regardless of what time of year it is. During enrollment periods this is to be expected, but the counseling office is always this busy. Granted, the college has attempted to remedy this issue by offering course enrollment and academic advisement online but more often than not these methods are more problematic.

  9. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

I think the most frusterating thing for me was that they don't really offer all the classes for the degree program I'm in (Japanese). They offer the degree program, so why not all the classes? It makes sense that there's not enough people for the class, but I don't think it should be a hassle to have them avaliable, especially when you have the staff. Other than all that, There's nothing particularly frusterating.
