What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time and give myself a bit of advice about college life and responsibilities I would focus on the word "time". Time, patience, determination, more time and alot of breathing. College is so overwhelming in the beginning and maybe a bit frightening to some and if you dwindle your time with less meaningful things and aspects of your life then expect a bit of trouble. I would give myself a lecture on what it means to be an adult with all of the adult repsponsibilites such as waking up on time, getting ready on time, being alert in class and all throughout the day, time allowance to go to and from class and campus., time for little breaks to regroup and study. Study what a big word. This means so much, and while you are in college it honestly is a neverending process. You have to be willing to put things asside and make time to study and focus, even if you have to stay up all night until the wee hours. Yes it is hard, but I would tell myself, you have to stay focused and make time, it will pay off.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
In my opinion on what type of person should not attend the school I am currently attending would be someone who is above average when it comes to financial status. Someone who wants to just hope right in to a four year university and knows exactly what they want to do, they should not attend this school. I am going to a two year community college and the alumni is extremely diverse. Single parents are enrolled, single mothers, kids still in highschool, retired seniors..etc.. Students who have the available funds for expensive higher learning institutions shouldn't enroll here.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing I consider about my school is one thing and one thing only. My school has several branches and therefore some classes offered at one campus are not offered at another. From my personal experience , I need around four to 5 art classes which include drawing, painting, ceramics and a few others. These particular classes are not offered at my branch of the college. They are offered about one hour away. This can be very difficult since this area in Texas does not have a reliable source of public transportation, and I myself, do not have a car.

What kind of person should attend this school?
I believe that any person who wants to go to a smaller community college should attend. Going to Trinity Valley reminds me alot of being in my high school expect slightly larger. So anybody who wants to make a smaller transition from high school to college Trinity Valley is for them. Although the Valley is not the largest community college it still has sporting events and fun things to do around the school. I would suggest Trinity Valley for somebody who wants to make a subtle change from high school yet still have fun.
