Some stereotypes that I heard before I came here (since I am from so far away), is that UT is a party school. Everyone that comes to visit says they couldn't go to school and succeed here due to the active social scene and how there is always something exciting happening to take away from study time. Another stereotype is that everyone likes football. Another is that the class size is so large teachers won't be able to accomodate each student.

Tate

its a big party school, classes are too big

Jamie

It has a lot of red-necks.

Laura

Sorority and Fraternity people, athletes

Mary

That all we do is go out and party. Most students I know are more into study that the "stereotypic party school" we are made out to be. Also, people think that all the students do is watch football, we are a diverse school with excellent academics that also happens to boost an excellent athletic program. Overall, students I know that attend other schools seem to think that all we do is go out, get drunk, and act stupid.

Jesse

They drink and watch football 24/7 also they never study

Kristine

That we are all party animals and only like to get drunk all the time.

Amanda

The school is too big. A big party school.
