Very preppy students, big party school, good athletics

I've heard that we are just a HUGE party school and all we care about is football and basketball. Supposedly, our students only care about partying and getting drunk all the time. Oh, and we think we're better than other schools in Tennessee and the SEC.

Some stereotypes about UTK would be that it is a party school, a football school, and not as academically challenging as other universities. Some stereotypes of UTK students is that those students involved in the greek life just party all the time and that they "buy" their friends.

A lot of people think that UTK is just a huge party school and that their students party every night and go out every night of the week and drink all the time. Also UTK is known very well for its strong Greek life, and so there are always stereotypes that go along with what people typically think of a sorority or fraternity.

I think a lot of people think that Tennessee has a lot of hillbillies!

I would say people generally think of UTK as a party school, and don't believe that it is actually hard.
