I like SDCC, it feels like a nice and safe place to be around. The classes are a really good size usually ranging from 20-40 students which is a great amount for each student to feel like they are getting enough of the teacher's attention. I won't lie and say that the food is awful; however, there are plenty of places to eat around the college because it is located in a populated area which is Downtown SD. Overall a good college!

San Diego City College provided me with a great academic experience. Among those in the student body were those in situations like me, who struggled at first to find their path, who had to work to make ends meet while still pursuing education, and who found belonging at City College. I couldn't join the clubs that were offered, but I still never felt alienated from my peers. My favorite part about City College, though, were the professors. In the aftermath of COVID, there was a lot of changing and adapting that needed to be done. I found that a majority of my professors were so dedicated and passionate about teaching what they loved that they overcame the challenges easily and encouraged students to do their best. Thanks to those dedicated professors, I found my path. Of all the community colleges available in San Diego, I am glad I went with San Diego City College.

San Diego City College truly cares about its students, they have go out of their way to help students in need such as offering food drives twice a month and having financial aid programs such as the Promise Program which helps students pay for two years of college. Since the class size range from around 30 students per class, the professors have time to check up on their students individually and will help the student to succeed.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If i had the chance to go back in time i would definantly tell myself to try much harder! Get better grades so that you can get accepted to a four year university right away! I am currently in a community college and with all the budget cuts it is extremely hard to get the classes i need. And to be eligable to transfer to a four year university you have to take all the required classes that they have listed for you but since many of the classes got cut i find myself looking at other community colleges for the classes and it is very stressful trying to attend more then one college just to take one class. But i know that eventually all my hard work will pay off, i just really wish i would have took high school a little more serious.

  6. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The commute is sometimes frustrating becasue I do not have a car. It is very upsetting when I have to take the bus and the trolley during the rush hours. It would be very helpful if I had a car because it could cut my commute time more than half and I would have more time to study and do other things that are important.

  7. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

What I consider the worst thing about my college is that there are many kids with special needs that are unable to do everything by themselves and they need help instead of more money going to those types of kids they waist in on unnecessary things. A lot of money goes to the health center and many of us don?t even use the health center. I meet one friend that was unable to see and because of the too many problems with getting around school he quit college and I believe that is unfair.
