Intensity of school work varies by major. Some kids have joke classes while other kill themselves to get a B. Intelligence varies, there are some kids that wow you while there are other who make you wonder how they even graduated high school. Some classes in my major I worked my ass off while others were too easy. Most professors know names because classes are small.

The classes are small which is nice so your professors know your name which is helpful. Students try really hard but its not to learn its only for the grades.

I've really enjoyed my classes at QU. I've become close with a couple of professors, which has been good when I need someone to talk to or a letter of recommendation or something like that. Some classes require more participation than others - I took an honors psych class this semester that only had 9 people in it, so it's hard not to notice someone who isn't talking. In larger classes there's less participation, and in introductory classes, as far as I can remember. I'm not sure how I feel about the QU seminars; I've never had to take one (they were testing them when I was a freshman), but some of them seem interesting and others a waste of a time block.

One-on-one attention from faculty. Teachers are available in their offices when not in class.

Class sizes here are perfect, they're small, so professors always know your name. The smallest class I have had had 8 people in it, the largest, about 60, definetely no more.
Students here definetely study, depending on your major- Health Sciences students study the most, then Liberal Arts, Business & communications seem to have an easier time.
Depending on the class, students participate in discussions- some professors just have a way of getting people to open up. In order to find other students with similar interests having intellectual conversations, you have to find your niche, or join a club or organization. The best class I have ever taken was Women's Studies 101- the professor was amazing, and so passionate about it. You'll find alot of really great professors here that are dedicated to their work and the students. You end up getting close to many professors, have lunch with them, and some even invite their students over to their homes for dinners or end of the year parties. Quinnipiac definetely helps you get a job upon graduation, there are alot of resources here to help you find a good match. Also, QU has many programs that totally prepare you to jump right into a job--- for example, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician's assistant, master of arts in teaching...

The academics at Quinnipiac are pretty good as many professors love what they do. They are many, however, that seem unqualified to be a college professor. Students take advantage of the small class size to goof off and treat a college course like a high school study hall. Unless the class is intellectual and has respect, students are unruly.

My favorite class is absolutely Milton with St. Hilaire. She is by far the coolest professor on campus. I love the teachers that deal with my major (English) but some of the math teachers are kinda horrible. I haven't found a lot of intellectual conversations outside of class. A lot of kids just complain and dont' realize that college is where you learn, not necessarily where you just get drunk 24/7.

Classes are the same size as they were in high school which is actually nice. I used to want huge lecture halls but it is actually nice to go to class in a smaller setting. Attendance does count in your classes so don't think you can miss as many classes as you want. But Quinnipiac does give you a good education. Get ready to write a lot because all of the professors always give essays. I personally think that the QU seminar classes are pointless and we could be taking other classes to fill our requirements but it is an easy A so do the work and get the A.

i am in the health science program and i think it is one of the best ones in the area. i cant speak about the other programs but it seems as though if you were to come here for business or communications, there could be better places to go.
