My average class size is around 25 to 30, about the same as it was in high school. Every teacher knows me by name, and I feel completly comfortable approachingthem after class for extra help. The Business school is great because it provides an interactive way of teaching. First semester ther was a business school wide competition of who could sell the most bikes on a computer program. Although the program is not really what it would be like in real life it provides a good way for us to learn to interact with eachother making large descisions. It was also a fun expiereince because it was a competition.

My professors are usually very personable and want to get to know me as a student. Almost all of my professors know my name, except one or two. The class size is never too big and professors are usually willing to help you and give office hours. I do take advantage of these office hours because I want my professor to know that I am trying the best I can. The journalism department is small but the professors are familiar with their field. I don't agree with having to take two science classes as part of the school of communcations core; I'd rather take more elective classes. The education is geared at getting jobs, but you have to really go out and look for jobs and really talk to the professors about where to apply and how to get into the business.

Class sizes are small which is something that i looked for and considered when applying to college. I didn't want to be "number 312", I wanted them to at least know my name; I got that AND more. My smallest class is my english class with 16 students while my largest class is probably my chemistry class with 27 students. I've never had a class with more than 30. Depending on the professor you might get lucky with barely any work, but all classes here are nothing like high school. Don't expect to write 2 page papers every once in a while. In english I was writing at least a 2 page paper a week, and if i wasn't writing that I was writing a 4-5 page paper. But don't get scared! The professors here are usually more than willing to meet with you outside of class and they are really good with their e-mail so don't be scare to shoot them an e-mail if you have a question about anything.
The health science department here is really amazing. They bring a lot of technology and modern ideas to the program, trying to stay as up-to-date as they can. I'm an athletic training/sports medicine major and I took an introduction class into my major and I can't be any more excited otherwise I would be jumping out of my skin. They don't joke around with these programs so definitely expect the unexpected.

Most professors know your name. My favorite classes are Finance classes, which are tough but I enjoy it. My least favorite classes are the one-credit SB classes that don't teach you anything. The administration insists that we take these one credit courses on ethics and diversity. Most students aren't very competitive, but thats at every school. If you work hard at Quinnipiac and you are involved you will get a good job when you leave.

The courses here are challenging and rigorous. All of my professors know my name and I have loved all of my professors so far. While there is a fair amount of partying here, most students are quite serious about their grades, too. I am in the Honors program, so the friends I have made through that are highly intellectual and we do have intellectual conversations outside of class, though I don't know how common that is. Each course I've taken has been very interesting and the professors are usually very passionate about their subject. I am a Psychology major and I have really enjoyed and loved the classes I've taken so far and the professors who have taught. I feel the school is getting more and more prestigious and is getting far more difficult to be admitted to, which is great for its reputation. The coursework here is very heavy; be prepared to do a lot of reading, writing, and studying.

My personal opinion is that the academics at Quinnipiac are top tier and competitive with the best schools in the nation. Please refer to statements already made.

Some professors know your names, depends on what type of person they are. Some teachers arent very established in their subjects, I have had a lot of teachers that are "teaching this course for the first time".. not good
Reward class participation which is good, classes are small enough that you can do that

Competitive=yes, healthily tho, many people want to help each other so its a good environment to be in.
Health science has been a great department so far.

Yes all my professors know my name. My favorite class has to be Calculus this semester my least favorite was biostats. I would say a large majority of students study and go to class compared to other schools. I participate in class a lot but most people do not. Quinnipiac students talk about class all the time outside of class. My suite is very competitive with their grades most of them are health science. I would say generally students are very curious about how others do so the students I would say are competitive. Discrete Variables, art and music are my most unique classes. I love being a liberal arts major and being able to take a variety of classes. At first I found the requirements ridiculous especially qu seminars but now I know they will add to my knowledge. I believe my major is geared towarded learned so far but i believe starting in junior year i will be learning for my career of teaching through diversity in the classroom and field study.

I'm an Occupational Therapist major so it is quite demanding. I do spend a lot of time doing homework and studying since this is a very competitive major. BUT i love it. My teachers are awesome this year. They will always make time to meet. However, ratemyprofessor.com helped me out freshmen and sophomore year. So check that out for sure.

Great Academics. Constantly getting better. As a first year student my peers would struggle to keep up with the current curriculum and new students. Without a doubt, a degree here is a great investment because within ten years our name is going to be equal or better to schools like Boston College and Fairfield University. I have seen the changes within a few years, if we stay on this path, this will soon be a world class institution.
