While my college is just a community college, it's still very homey and helpful. The teachers are very helpful whether you're an in-person class or an online class. Me personally, I usually take online classes. However, when I took my first in person class, the teacher was extremely helpful and cognoscente on the needs and strengths of every student.

Piedmont Virginia Community College has been my first public school experience after being a home school student for the entirety of my education through high school. PVCC has been a great first step on the path of my educational career (as I plan to transfer to a 4 year university in the fall of 2020). I have learned much from my instructors and fellow students and am eager to take what I've learned to my next opportunities.

Asia - 05/23/2020

I like piedmont because they have issued me many grants to continue my education, I was able to graduate from there this may with an AS in general studies debt free. I was then able to transfer to Mary Baldwin easily and now I am enrolled there. I still Have some scholarships left to use at PVCC for more classes if I want too.

Kendall - 04/07/2020

Piedmont Virginia Community College has been the perfect fit for me. The professors are always available to students and helpful in any way they can be. There is an amazing sense of community with everybody on campus.

Is an exciting experience. It's different, it's organized and it has a welcoming atmosphere. The people are friendly and very helpful. I is a place to make friends and contacts that will mold and define you as you search and learn what and who you want to be. It is a life changing time for us to better our selves and our families. 7. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Piedmont has a wonderful community of students of all different backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities. Our School is diverse and full of extermley determined and focused students. My first semester I had a foreign exchange student in one of my classes from a sister school in Argentina. I love that we give students from other countries a chance to experience another culture. We have people from the city in Charlottesville, Va. and from the surrounding country areas giving a unique experience of city life and southern charm all in one thriving Community College.

  8. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

The Veterans Admission and Advising Office and support from the President and administration is superior to any school I attempted to enroll in. Of the 3 other schools in my area that I attempted to apply to, Jackie Fisher not only showed up to scheduled appointments and returned phone calls but has been proactively involved with the academic success of every veteran at the school. President Friedman's philosophy of total student success has been demonstrated by deeds not words. The support provided by the administration, professors, and support staff is unparalleled at any school in Virginia.

  11. What kind of person should not attend this school?

There is not a kind of person that shouldn't attend PVCC. There are programs for those that don't do well in a traditional classroom and want to learn a trade. For those that need only a 2 year degree or programs for those transfering to a 4-year university. Every professor and staff member is fully committed to the success of the student which provides an environment in which success is achievable for every student regardless of strengths or weaknesses. The only people who don't succeed at PVCC are those that do not try to succeed.

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Like every school there will be errors made. The school it's self and it's policy's may be perfect but the people that run them are not;. They are people just like you and I who make mistakes. I think some times it is difficult to always be on the same page when you are speaking with someone who is trying to help you and advise you on what may truly be the best fit for you. We all feel like we could all be better at something and I think it would be comunication.
