What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and talk to my high school senior self, I would tell myself to learn how to study better. I wish I had known how to make notes from textbooks and what the teachers had said. I would want myself to not get used to study guides, cause generally professors don't give you one. I would want myself to not procrastiate on studying for tests and doing papers the day before they are due. Some transition advice would be to forget every rule in high school, because the teachers are better, the classmates are less competive, and that I should have found some way to reduce my stress.

Describe the students at your school.
My classmates are diverse in age and race. The general attitude is easy going and purpose driven. The students who are attending here are not doing it because 'it is the next step' but because they wish to go further and recognize PJC as an affordable way of doing so. You have dual enrollment students, military personnel, single parents, continuing education students, job training, elderly who wish for more knowledge. There is practically no limit who or what you will find here. I continue to meet new kinds of people from different walks of life. It is a great atmosphere.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing is the lack of employees on campus. The lines for everything are very long, especially for things relating to administration or financial aid. The campus itself visually doesn't suffer from the lack of employees though, nor does the quality of professor. Both are excellent. It is just hard to find good help on campus, even after waiting in a long line for it.

What's unique about your campus?
The best thing I consider about PJC is the easy accesability of the campus and the location in Pensacola. It is not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, but at the same time not so far out of the way it's a hinderance to attend. PJC offered three campuses so if you live in the area there is more then likely one local to you. The one I attend is only a twenty minute drive from my house. And it has the city bus route going by as well. Campus is easily walkable between classes.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
My school allows for various racial backgrounds to be accepted school wide without segregation or prejudice from students or staff. For a state college, PSC is very much like a university in its involvement in honors societies and school clubs.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
Anyone needing their hand held through administration and things of that nature. This college definitely requires you to go out and do the things yourself and not to depend on staff doing it for you (which isn't always a bad thing).

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frusturating thing about my school is that some of the teachers feel as if they just qualified enough to teach. Most colleges that are community have these types of teachers, but four year universities have higher quality teachers. Also, our school is rated the 2nd school with the most dual-enrolled students. Since we have this, we have teachers that have to teach down at their level, making it more frusturating for those of us who have graduated high school.
