I wish I had known that school was going to be THE time of my life. I wish I had known that snoozing through an opportunity or not taking a class that interested me would haunt me later. I should have joined school clubs, took risks in my course choices, and made sure to actually listen to my professors. With work, bills, family, and other obligations, Ohio State offered so many options to be able to get to know yourself better. I should have taken advantage of that and appreciated it more.

I wish I had known how much I actually would need to study for classes. I feel like people over estimated how much I would need to do in order to keep good grade. Therefore during freshmen year I studied more hours than I may have needed to instead of going out with friends, which I guess is the opposite of what many people do. But over the last couple of years I have made a more balanced schedule with school work and friends.

Before I came to OSU, I wish I would have learned that I need a cosigner to get a loan. I also wish I would have known more about all of the student activities that are available. Another thing I would have liked to learn is about on-campus jobs that do not require work study.

Study as much as possible. Even if it seems like nothing is covered in lectures, still study the book material. Also, do not get caught up in activities at the expense of studying for classes. Take a diverse amount of classes that seem interesting, not just the classes required for graduation.

Try to complete as much AP/post secondary college credits as possible. Be prepare to encounter a lot of people from a wise variaty of backgrounds, if you are more conservative this is not the school for you.

I wish I would have known a better order in which to take my classes. Had I known all the classes I had to take prior to freshman year, I would have ordered them differently. I also wish I would have known to order my books online and to always get involved in the first month of school.

That you never need to worry about making friends here. I was concerned that I would have trouble finding people that I could be really good friends with, but that was never a problem. So long as you have confidence in yourself you will be able to find people that will welcome you with open arms. We have an anime club, a comic book club, and a board game club (called "Board to Death"). You can't be too dorky to find someone. :)

I wish I knew that dates weren't necessary to get a girlfriend; it would have saved me a lot of money.

Before coming to high school I not only attended school for eight hours, but I also worked part time, played sports, participated in clubs and made time for friends. Before college I thought I had time management down, now I am in class for less than half the time I was in high school, still work part time and try to participate in other activities, but the days never seem to have enough hours. I wish I'd known in high school how crucial time management was for college, and just how much of it would be needed for studying.

I wish I had known the process by which I should have gotten my books. I used to buy them for ridiculous prices in the bookstores, but now I know that one should buy them online.
