What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
The main concept of childhood life is growth. Throughout my childhood and into my later teen year I feel that I did just that. Knowing what I know about college life and making the transition, if I could go back and give myself advice, I would say, "Keep up the hard work!" This for the simple fact that from my middle school years, I watched myself grow in terms of maturity and educational standards. From the "punk kid" years of a middle school child, to the respectable graduate level of a hard-working high school senior, I can say that I did it! I grew! I got myself off the skateboard, the poor study habits, the desire of going out every night and into the life of a good graduate. I went from skateboarding with friends at night to studying for my AP Music Theory, AP Lit and Lang, and AP Statistics Exams. I went from going to the movies on weekends to staying up at the school with the National Honor Society and making sure things were done at school. And I even went from 'punk kid' music, to blaring the streets with the drumline!

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I moved away from Niceville when i graduated, where the college is located. I wish somehow now i could of seen a way to stay, but its not easy to live alone and go to school. Saving money and apllying more for loans, grants, scholarships, schools, sure would of been an upside if i was thinking about it. I just overlooked the fine details and when i realized its not going to be easy or cheap, i bit the bulet and went with it.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
A person who is not focused about school or does not care, and wants to cut up all the time should not attend NWFSC. This is a nice school and your teachers do not play and i like to be in a enviroment that is learning not all the time having to get on to some one who is being bad.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
Recently, the school has started charging students to print per page. When I first began at this college, printing was free. On top of that, now they have set their computers default printing method to duplex 2 and are charging us for two pages when it is actually only on one page! It's aggrivating to have to put money on my student ID card so that I can print.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
I think NWFSC is a great college; my professors are intelligent, and very polite (if you show effort in the classes, of course). They also make themselves available outside of class for tutoring.
The student clientele in the daytime consist mostly of kids in high school participating in the Collegiate High School program. In the evenings, most of the students are active duty or reserve military personnel.
