Going back in time to my senior year in high school, hmm? in all reality I would really like to go back to my freshmen year in high school but for this paper I will stay with my senior year. I would tell myself to study harder and to stay in sports. I would also tell myself to try to get a scholarship so I would be able to go to college; seeing that both of my parents where drop outs. If I did go to college I could have a better life by now. I would also tell myself to stay away from the friends that I had in high school. Wow it is just like my parents told me and it is just like I?m telling my daughter now.
If I went after my dreams, perhaps we would not be in the position that we are in now. I also tell her that education is a very important tool for life. I feel this is just like an old saying ?If I knew back then, what I know now?. But it is never too late to go after your dreams.

If I was allowed to go back in time and talk to myself about college I would first tell myself to do the best I can in highschool for my senior year. I would also tell myself that taking the SAT and ACT are very important as well. While talking to myself I would also remind myself to always ask for help from my counselor, career center at the highschool I was attending, and also my parents, because college is a very big thing and a huge step in one's life and can impact the way I would get my education and start my own life and career.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would warn myself that high school is nothing like college. That in college there is way more work, reading and tests. Once you get into college it is all about school and no more joking around or missing class. In college you have to take everything way more serious because teachers don't give you 2-3 times to make up the work or tests, if you don't go to class and do that test or turn in that project, then there's no good grade. Overall, all that hard work and studying will be worth it at the end.

I would tell myself to be more outoing in college and to study harder.I would also tell myself to put money away so that it could start saving up and i would have more money to spend on food and books. Also, i would say to make more friends in college and go to study groups to get ahead and take harder class to get ahead and graduate early.

I would definately tell myself that my parents dont always know whats best for me so i shouldnt let them choose what college i attend. I would also tell myself to be focused freshman year of college should be a breeze if i just keep grounded. I'd also tell myself more importantly make friends cause youll be miserable without them. Most importantly go to school out of Arizona stop being scared and make the plunge and go.

College libraries and professors have awesome resources; all you have to do is ask for help. Having smaller class sizes is valuable, as is choosing classes based on the professor. Find passionate professors, because they will be able to translate that passion to you and help you learn so much more. Tools like ratemyprofessor.com are really important for making the most of your tuition money.
The most important thing I would stress to my high school self is that travel is the best educator, so DO a study abroad program.
Get involved in extra curricular activities to find friends who are like-minded. Having good friends is essential to having a good life. By participating in out-of-the-ordinary activities you?ll also find networking opportunities.
All college campuses have unique things to offer, but to be happy in any school you must first be happy with yourself. Be happy with your classes and major, be happy with the job you are doing and the friends you surround yourself with, be at peace with your family and treat your body well, and you will love life anywhere you are.
Cara
Cara,
Life is full of exciting, sad, hilarious, spontaneous, magical and unimaginable times, none of these things will matter without your education. I understand that you have just spent the last twelve years slaving over books, hearing dad nag about your math grade and the horrific boring times sitting in Mrs. Alamys history class; but without these times you would not be where you are today. Continuing your education will not only bring you one step closer to achieving the life you wish for but also give you bring you one step farther then you were before. With a degree under your belt you can travel the world, live a simple blissful life without worry living your life dreams. With that degree you can have a career in wherever you wish, you can be happy. College is completely different from high school I promise, you have the freedom to make your own choices, you have the right to speak your opinion. College is a choice, a gift to yourself that should be accepted and used to the fulliest. Your life in college will be an experince you will never forget, I promise she would be proud.

Lyric, you must perservere "self rescue" you are in charge of your education and future. You can succeed at anything if you are willing to work, study and aspire. Lyric, study longer and don't give up. If you maintain good grades the doors of oppertunity begin to open for you early. Progression is entirely up to you. Sucess is frightening however, failure states that you quit trying. Quitting is unacceptable a higher education is plausible and a means of success. Begin to organize neater and maintain steady studying habits. Inquire, if you are uncertain of which direction to go. If school begins to be difficult reach out ask questions seek tutors. Professors, advisors and students alike have many tools at their fingertips to ensure success in the future. My future is entirley left up to me and my wills at which to dispell it.

I would advise myself that while yes choosing a career to help others is important, in the long run making money to support yourself is just as important for a satisfactory life and to choose wisely.

I would tell myself not to take too many classes while working full time because then I wouldn't have had to withdraw from the classes I did because I couldn't handle the load. Also to pick more online classes because it's easier to handle with work and friends.
