What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Don't freak out! Calm down and take your time. Really, focus on yourself and clear your mind of everything that is stressing you out at the moment. Don't let others influence your decision on what you should do next. Do whats best for you and once again, FOCUS ON YOU. Even though I'm from the future I can't tell you how things are for me then. Hopefully you will see the way things will be much sooner than what it took me. But I will say with the upmost clarity that things will get better. Chin up, chest out and smile! Because great things will come your way, you just have to be positive. Oh, and take up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu now, its an awesome sport you will learn to love and if you do it now you'll be a purple belt by the time your're me. Peace.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
When I've gone to speak with an advisor in the past, there have been a couple who seem like they do not know what they are talking about and do not help me. It's frustrating and I get confused, luckily there are really good counselors who can help me and make things very clear.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I try not to brag when ever possible but when I do, and I cannot lie--I do, I tend to brag that I am not paying anything for classes. I receive the Pell Grant and because tuition is relatively low it is completely covered. I believe that MCC is the biggest community college in the country, if it is not then I know it is the biggest in Arizona, that is brag worthy.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Something unique about Mesa Community College was that it is a commuter school, since there are no dorms on campus for students to live alot of students drive their own vehicles to class. I always find it interesting though to see in class where all your classmates are driving from everyday to get to class, you really see the commitment in some students by the travel time that they take in order to come and learn on campus. Since no students live on campus there is an apartment complex across the street.

What kind of person should attend this school?
The types of students who should consider Mesa Community College are those who are non-residents and need to gain residency for tuition. This is a great way to earn credits and not pay a ridiculous amount of money. Students who also cannot afford Arizona State University or the University of Arizona should consider MCC because they have great transfer programs.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The lack of resources is the most frustrating thing about my school. I am persuing dental hygiene, and have taken many biology classes over the past semsters. It would be helpful to have cadaver labs instead of having to use just the limited amount of models or books we are given.

What are the academics like at your school?
Very flexible, I'm only an art student so I wouldn't know about the science, math or engineering departments but they only want you to succeed. They is their goal in life, they want to push you because they know it'll be good for you. My art teacher constantly challenged us and I am actually very grateful for it. It also weeds out the students that don't show they're not one hundred percent. The academics are superb.
