I was invited to attend a small college fair, and they did a small tour around the campus. It was interesting to hear about some of the courses that were being offered. They did a great job handling, and answering inquires. Though I didn't enroll as an on-campus student they do have online options. I believe that their online program is pretty great. I can attend school year round with a frozen tuition of $131 per credit hour. That's a lower price compared to on-campus students taking classes in the summer semester. Also the ability to take classes that are 5 weeks long is great too! Some may not like taking classes one after the other. The classes are prearranged, not many options to choose from. It depends on what courses are offered that semester. Online offers only a few majors, compared to attending as an on-campus student. I like the flexibility online, and it works for me. Overall its pretty good.

It is a very opening and comforting community college that bring people in from all over to get a degree and further their education with all the help they need. There are a bunch of variates of majors that students can take on. For me this college is close to home so it gives students like me and others from my community a place to further our educations that are closer to home.

Along with Leeward, I have also attended Kapiolani Community College, and University of Hawai`i at Manoa. I can safely say that Leeward is one of the cleanest campuses with friendly staff. The facilities are close together and class sizes are good for one-on-one discussions. On top of the lively organizations that fill the schools, the educators are top tier and willing to help students both in and out of the classes.

I think that people who are determined and strong willed should attend this school. I feel this way because I was a stay at home mom for quite a while and I promised myself that I was going to make something of myself and provide a better life for my son. I also think that people should always attend school whether they have a masters degree or not, there is so much knowledge out there waiting to be discovered. Even people who start at the bottom, almost always have the potential to ultimately make it to the top.

  9. Describe the students at your school.

The classmates in my course class are different from the classmates in High school. The classmates would actually be team players and are responsible people that I can work with. In High school, people would usually take advantage of who they think is the smartest person and work with him/her in order to get a good grade. What was worse was that the students wouldn't do the work and they instead let the 'smart' one do all of the work which was upsetting. Anyway, the students in LCC gives me a good experience that I won't forget.

Anyone can attend LCC. Theres the Pearl City campus as well as the Waianae campus. My first time in college I had classes on both campuses. The Waianae campus has limited class available. 12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school is the trafffic we have to deal with going in and out of the school's campus. There is only one way in and one way out. Many people tend to wait till the traffic dies down but for those that are in hurry, to go to work for example, must be super frustrated.
