I absolutely love it. I have made so many new friends and the campus is so beautiful. The teachers are so helpful. The teachers make it easy to learn and they explain the material so well. The education I’m getting is really good. I would suggest this college to anyone

Honestly the school is nice, but don’t go into the nursing program. You will be stressed out of your mind, and you will regret it. I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it if it’s something you really want to do, but I'm just say it is going to be really difficult. The teachers aren’t that much help either.

Overall Jefferson Davis Community College is a decent campus. Although they don't have any sports teams, there are a lot of opportunities at JD. You can become a member of Phi Theta Kappa, which can open a plethora of scholarship opportunities nationwide. You can become apart of the Gay-Straight Alliance at the school to help bring people of different sexes together to bring awareness. If you have a musical talent, you can join the choir and become featured in notable events. The choir even got to perform with the smash pop group "Pentatonix"! Jefferson Davis is very involved with helping the community and its students for the best. The teachers are very accessible, friendly and easy to connect with. The food in the cafeteria is delicious and there are a variety of options to choose from. The environment is very relaxed and gives the feeling of home. In my opinion, Jefferson Davis Community College here in Gulfport, is a great place to attend. One of my favorite aspects of the JD is the inexpensive tuition cost. I would definitely say you would get your money's worth here. Although the campus does have its perks and disappointments, I personally believe that this campus has the potential to be one of the best campuses on the coast!

Jefferson Davis community college has been a great experience for me. I have made many friends here and everyone is so nice. Class sizes are great and all the teachers are friendly and very helpful in any area I need help in. They offer many different programs to encase many different students. The town of Brewton is great and offers fun things to do . I love the small college atmosphere and would recommend Jefferson Davis Community College to anyone wanting a great 2-year program.

  2. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

My school is best known for it's two year associate nursing program. The program is very accredited and well known in most of the surrounding areas such as Atmore, Monroeville, and even smaller towns in Florida such as Milton. With an average of 300 applicants every other semester trying to get into the program, it's safe to say that it is also a very competitive program as well! This program is ideal for persons who do not wish to go further than just an associate's degree because a basic RN license is attainable in only eighteen months.

  3. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, knowing what I know now, I really would not tell myself anything different from what I told myself in high school. I was a pretty head strong individual upon graduation from high school and was blessed with a set of very great parents so I did not change really anything when I made my transition from high school to college. Any advice that I would give though would be to never lose sight of the goals that I have set for myself, keep a planner with any events or deadlines written down so that I would be able to check them off as they were completed, and lastly, do not ever wait until the last minute to do any assignements because it will never pay off. Anything could happen in a matter of minutes and if I have a big assignment or essay due I may or may not be able to turn it in on time because something horrible could happen that would halt me from being able to do so on time!

  4. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about my school is the the comforting and hepful spirits that all of the teachers and staff here at Jeff Davis provide. Everyone from the teachers to the advisors make each student feel like they actually WANT to help and answer any questions that a student may have. The teachers and advisors make themselves readily available to help and that means a lot, especilly if you are a first year freshman. Jefferson Davis Community College is a great and wonderful academic starting place and I would reccomend it to any future student!
