My experience so far has been amazing. I enjoy the student/teacher ratio in classrooms, plenty of mental health resources, and academic resources to make your learning experience easier. I also really love the on-campus areas such as the gym and the library.

Zoie - 05/01/2024

It's a beautiful school full of joy. The students and faculty alike are very involved in all dealings of the university. The sports team are highly decorated, even the intramural ones. The campus is amazing and suitable for people of all types. JU is very inclusive and I'm honored to be part of it.

Jason - 03/18/2024

The people and staff here are incredibly understanding and welcoming. I cannot name a negative encounter that I've had here in the two months since I initially arrived. Everyone's maintained a wonderful and welcoming aura. Professors are also understanding when it comes to any out of school conflicts that may interfere with assignment dates.

Madison - 03/10/2023

My opinion of Jacksonville University is fairly new because I have just been admitted to the school and have very few opinions. But they do include the class sizes which is 11 to 1 student faculty ratio which is very good for some people. The people that surround you is very good because you won't feel alone at all.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

My college experience, though it is just beginning, has been incredible. I am already expanding out of my comfort zone and trying things I never have before. However, I was accepted to many of the larger universities in my state but could not afford to go to them because I live in a single parent home and it is difficult for my father to send me off to college. We did not receive much controbution from the government but a scholarship would allow me to go and prove myself at a large University where I have always wanted to go to.

This topic requires a student of Jacksonville University to pick their brain, due to the myriad of possibilities worthy of mention. Be it the high freshmen transfer rate (over 50 percent of the 'friends' you may make here as a freshmen transfer after their first year), the low level of academic competitiveness or even awareness, or just the general unfriendliness apparent while spending only a few hours on campus, Jacksonville University is the antithesis of college ideal.
