I have had a great experience attending Ivy Tech Community College at the Elkhart campus this past year. My professors have been great and the school has meet my expectations in almost every way. They could use to have a coffee shop installed; the little coffee vending machine leaves much to be desired and has a perpetual glitch of taking my money without filling a coffee cup.

Calista - 01/04/2019

Ivy Tech's staff are extremely friendly and very approachable. When I have a question, I am always able to find someone to help me. There is always someone available to help you, whether you have a question or you do not know where you are going. The campus is pretty confusing your first time around, so having staff that know where everything is, is a great asset.

My overall opinion of Ivy Tech Community College-Northcentral is decent. I can get a affordable tuition cost for a local community college. Security is top notch at Ivy Tech. There are always willing to help you out. They can even help you out to your vehicle. There are not a lot of on-campus activities you can do, although you can always find them around the campus. I took a medical terminology class at Ivy Tech, I can say that the class size is around 11-18 students. You can interact with the professors more easier than going to a big school such as IU or even Purdue in Indiana. There always help if you need it. You can schedule a tutor session with a student or you can go after class. Once you walk in the campus, the smell can be a little awful. It smells like a old kitchen food. I just wish they would it smell a little nicer. Once bulletins around campus, there are always opportunities in the Michiana area. You can get paid really well if you become a line cook at a restaurant or you could a internship in your work-study. There are always people on the campus who could help you if you need it. Ivy Tech doesn’t have a lot of sports opportunities, but you do recreational sports. If you are young going to Ivy Tech, you might have some older people in your classes. There is nothing wrong with that. Just beware if you go.

It is the perfect community college, but nothing more. The many campuses give students an array of options and my academic advisor is AMAZING! Many, many friendly faces are seen here, however, the level of connection to fellow students is poor, although I can clearly see the effort by staff and students!
