What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I were to go back in time to talk to myself as a senior, I would tell my self to get more involved into activites as a student. I would also would have saved a little more money for the experence of going to college. Hopfully to change my perception of what I thought college would be like. To me college is a little more relaxing and left to your own responsibility of your actions, but before my experence I thought college would be exactly like high school. I would also have tried to find an intrest in something to study for the two years of starting in a community college. The discipline is also something that I would have instilled in the way that I think of college. It is a little harder working and going to college all at the same time trying to make a living, and a career at the same time.

What's unique about your campus?
The teachers in my program, because I've never seen teachers who care and love their jobs as much as they do. Just seeing that in them makes me love music even more than I did before. I listen more closely than I ever have in school before because there is not a single piece of bad advise that they give, and I don't want to miss a thing.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before arriving to GCC I wish I would have known that parking spots are like gold and once you have a good one you never want to let it go! On the day my very first semester, I spent over a half an hour circling the parking lot and was late for my first class. Today I am in my fourth semester and I have learned to always leave my house an hour before my class starts to ensure that I find a parking spot, that hopefully still leaves me with at least 15 minutes before class.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The thing I would brag the most about my school is the class sizes and the teachers. The class size is personalized of being small to have a little one on one with the teacher, and not as much rushing to teach forty students at once. The teachers at my school are also understanding of the student due to a lot of them have gone there themselves. They are into new ideas of teaching for the students to learn, but they also make sure the material is exactly what we needed to know for that area plus more.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who is looking for the community that Universities typically provide shouldn't attend this school. Also, someone who is not self motivated. This school, from my experience, is an easy school to get behind in academically due to the mind set that it is only a temporary education school and the grades there do not matter, even though they really are important.

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I have heard the school and people be described as a slang term, "ghetto", however I find this to be contrary to what I have observed as a student and that a good portion of people that are negatively presumptuous towards the school are people who have not attended the school themselves.
