Before arriving to GCC I wish I would have known that parking spots are like gold and once you have a good one you never want to let it go! On the day my very first semester, I spent over a half an hour circling the parking lot and was late for my first class. Today I am in my fourth semester and I have learned to always leave my house an hour before my class starts to ensure that I find a parking spot, that hopefully still leaves me with at least 15 minutes before class.

I wish that I understood how community colleges worked before enrolling, because I would have enrolled much sooner if I did. I came to Glendale Community College with an eager mind so it was fun for me to learn. Honestly, the most important thing is to be eager to learn, because you can only know so much before coming to college.

I had wished that I could find something successful and the classes that I am taking will transfer to Northern Arizona University.
James
I wish that I had known about the NAU university program connected with GCC for the Nursing Bachelors program.

I wish I had known how difficult it is to have no other choice, but put myself through school. I could've had it easy if I had applied myself in high school like I am now, but instead I have to work almost full time so I can afford my phone, truck, school bills, etc. Going from high school to college is a period of growing up fast.

I wish I had known the options that were available to me, as far as degrees, and special programs of interest that I could take.

Before I came to Glendale Community College, I wish I would have understood how accredited classes transfer from a junior college to a state or private university. Although my career counselors were able to give me a rudimentary outline of what classes I needed for my transfer degree, I still ended up with credits that are not essential for my university transfer. If I would have known the particulars about transferring credits from one educational institution to another I could have saved myself time, money, and resources.

I actually do not wish I had known any more than I had, for I would not have learned the lessons I have now learned. I think that going in, I was rather ignorant and looking for the wrong things, but at the same time, this was just what I needed to be in order to become the person I am.
Cassie
I wished that I could apply for many scholarships than I realized or even grants.
