Florida College is an incredible place full of life and amazing people in both the faculty and the students. Although it is a smaller school it is what makes it such an intricate student body. It is a smaller christian college that impacts the community in big ways and in shows from the responses of the people in the community. Florida College is involved in many different service projects in the area constantly trying to make the world a better place and show Gods love to everyone around them!

Spencer - 04/17/2020

My overall opinion of Florida College is extremely high. They are a great college, primarily because of the fantastic environment that is provided. Some people don't like how small the school is, but I think that the size helps build better relationships because of the ability to know most of the people there.

Reagan - 04/09/2019

Florida college provides a unique opportunity for students to learn in a great environment. The availability and the concern the teachers have for their students is one of the main keys to a student’s success. Furthermore, the activities and the groups that are available for the student create a caring environment for a student to make lifelong relationships and strong bonds.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could talk to myself as a high school senior with the knowledge I have now about college I would tell myself to not stress out about choosing a degree within the first year or two. You will figure that out with college experience. Also to not stress about money but to invest in your education no matter the amount, it is always worth it. Keep in touch with those who have helped you get where you are and always remember to say thank you because you cannot do it on your own.

  3. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about Florida College is its small size and clean enviroment. All of the dorms at FC are gender seperated. Therefore I never feel unsafe. I never have to worry about my roommate bringing in someone that might be dangerous. With FC's dress code and no alchohol policy I also never have to worry about immodesty or drinking on campus. The main focus at Florida College is your education and your growth in the Lord. Not about drinking parties or fraternities but about learning and education. That is what I like the most about Florida College.

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about Florida College is having my expectations shattered. I don't necessarily mean that I have been let down. I haven't. I went into my first semester thinking I knew what I was in for, but I was sorely mistaken. I have learned very quickly that my education is extremely important and that my professors care about me and will not let me fail. It is frustrating that I can not simply do as I please, because the faculty cares about my education AND my well-being.

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

The best thing about FC is the amazingly spiritual friends you will make and keep for life. If i could change one thing, it would be that I would make all the Bible classes pass/fail, but even so, the Bible classes are not too difficult and are incredibly informative. The size of the campus and school is just right, especially for coming right out of high school. its much much less intimidating than a huge university. most of my time spent on campus is in my suite with my wonderful suitemates in our beautiful new drom, Terrace Hall. Tampa is a fun city too! it is not too big, but there is still so much to do in the area! and the weather is perfect. The best, and maybe most unusual time on the FC campus is during lectures week. many classes get canceled, but you will run out of time to attend all the wonderful lectures the school will offer that week and you will be delighted and the energy and joy that permeates the campus.

  16. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

YES- students on the FC campus are unusually friendly. I've taken classes at a community college and other students passed me without so much as a smile. But at FC, even if you do not know the student personally, almost everyone will say hello and smile as you pass. NO- students at FC have their priorities in the right place and most are just trying to do God's will in all aspects of their lives. NO- although many students do meet their future spouses at FC, there is little pressure to get engaged, or even to be dating someone. Even if there is an unspoken pressure or expectation, it is very easy to ignore.

  18. What are the academics like at your school?

I love how all of my professors know my name. They have a genuine desire to see you succeed. FC is just like any other college in Academics. I think its exactly what you make of it. If you take easy classes, it will be easy, if you take hard classes, it will be hard.
