What i hope to get out of college is to get my associate's degree in criminal justice. i believe that by attending college i will master many skills to know when someones lying, etc.

I received my associates degree at a small junior college in one year. I had some great experiences but now its time to move on to bigger and better things in my life. I feel in my heart that it is best for me to attend FAU to fullfill my dream of become successful in the future.

From my college experiene I have obtained a stronger sense of who I am as a student and as a person. When I entered my two-year community college I thought I wanted to do event planning. However, as I continued to take classes in other areas, especially law, I realized that law is an area that I wanted to pursue. It was difficult at first to decide what path I wanted to take in life but my college experience helped me figure out the path to take. I have come to the conclusion that I want to pursue International Studies and then attend law school. It is a common occurence for people to re-enroll in school in order to regain themselves as people and to choose another career path. It has been valuable to attend school because I found myself and I also was able to continue volunteering and helping my family.

The journey taken thus far is a pathway to the bettering of ones self for a great future. As a college student the goal to be a successful Dermatologist has become second nature. The most important part of an undergraduate’s journey is the freshmen year. Throughout a youth’s experience, there will be milestones that stand out the most. One’s personal life events are what mold who we are as an individual and dictates our behavior. For instance, throughout my years of cheering, I’ve always told myself “I will be the best and most remembered cheerleader on the squad” putting forth my best effort in everything I did. As a result, I earned the title as captain and most valuable cheerleader, always looking back and smiling because I realized, if my put my mind to something I will achieve it, however, I must have a true passion for it and a daily motivation to achieving my goal.

There are two consequential beliefs that I come to acquire during my undergrad studies. First, when I look at and analyze the world; everything seems to be the outcome of what man thinks. Whatever is is the result of our desires, ideas, dreams, aspirations, inspirations, and wishes. Whatever is is because it existed in the form of a thought in the mind of someone. This may seem to be evidently trivial, yet I cannot emphasize how significant this is. For if it's accurate, this would mean that the more noble and greater one's thoughts are, the greater one's reality is. Second, despite what what we see on television or what we quotidianly experience, there are still some good folks in the world; there are still people who pursue what is good, beautiful, and true. This I say because I've met countless of individuals who believed in me more than I had believed in myself. On account of their faith in me, I come to believe also that the universe is not perenially mad at us as we often suppose; that there is an aspect of human existence upon which Helios will always shine.

Out of my college experience, I have learned about faith to believe that I can achieve and win. From this college experience, I have a degree and worked in the field as an intern. This experience has been like no other. I will never be the same as far as realizing the importance of an education and how if you believe in something you can achieve it. It has been valuable to attend because I now have a strong foundation in completing something I have started plus a chance to realize that education is the key to victory. I have gleaned so much from my peers, teachers and family during this school experience to last me a life time.

Since I normally tend to stick to myself and not interact with others, I feel that the first major value college gave me was the opportunity to interact with others on a peer based level. After that, I am not sure what other major values I attained save the progression toward a completed General Education on my way to completion of my major. I had fun in the classes for the most part but by en large, if I were asked many of the test questions I got right on many of the tests taken I think I would fail to have a correct answer. Most of what was studied was learned for the purpose of passing a test so that I could say, "Hey, look College counsel, I've taken the classes you said I needed to take and passed." Most of my experience thus far is doing what people say I need to do to do well in a field that doesn't utilize the material that is required I learn. I know I will use some of what I learned in the future but not all. I look forward to a better experience.

From my first year of college I have learned that college is more than one big party. If I want to succeed in my studies I have to put forth the time and effort to earn the grades I want. I learned how to manage my time wisely by working two jobs, volunteering, studying, playing soccer, and being a member of numerous different clubs. I feel like I made the best of my first year in college because I experimented with everything that college had to offer yet I managed to earn the grades I wanted and finish my first year with honors. Aside from the activities I participated in and the memories I made I value the lessons I have learned. Personally I feel like college taught me how to grow up. I am a mature adult because of my first year. I have my priorities in order and I have a clear vision of what I want my life to look like when I graduate. College taught me that there is more to life than a good party and that is the feeling of accomplishing something that you may not have though possible before and making a difference.

I learned alot and gained a Criminal Justice degree. Sadly though I am still unemployed since 12/07. My advisor was more concerned with signing up a student than advising me. A student should have experience in the criminal justice field and/or plan to join a police or sheriff department in order to go for this program. I have no experience and am not young enough to join a department. I am needing a scholarship to help me pay for a hands on learning Masters Program in Counseling.

Coming right out of High School, I was not that interested in attending classes and sitting through lectures that I thought did not have a purpose for me pertaining to my life. My parents noticed my lack of enthusiasm and kept pressuring me to try harder, because "education is the key to everything". My father is a dentist and my mother is a registered nurse as well as a dental hygentist. They moved away from their family because the "job oppurtunities were better" where the decided to live. I did not want to turn out like them by any means. I believe love is more important than money, and it seemed as though they thought the opposite. I decided to go to a Community College just to spend my time and to make my parents happy. About a year into my new education, I discovered I wanted to be a Nurse Practicioner. I earned my CNA liscense my senior year of High School and began working as a CNA. I fell in love with the profession, and I now understand why education makes a person more well-rounded. My goal is to become an educated women who loves her family.
