Coppin State University is home to all who are apart of Eagle Nation. They're compassionate and graceful to each of the students on campus and throw campus events to keep everyone engaged. For the classroom, the professors are uniquely intelligent to each of their professions they teach.

Outside of extracurricular's, Coppin State University has a wonderful campus with proactive security at all times. But if you're an athlete I'd advise you to avoid Coppin State University at all costs. This school offers little to no help when it comes to conflict with coaches or teammates. You could report a coach the whole season and even report a coach in past years, and there will be no disciplinary actions taken AT ALL. All Coppin State University cares about is winning championships and boost ratings for the school. Mental health is not a priority for student-athletes, especially if you're an incoming freshmen. Yes, they are available but coaches and the athletic department don't make it adamant to seek professional help when things get tough. For me I've experienced many hardships that unfortunately I am still going through, because of the lack of help I received my freshman year. I reported my coach on multiple occasions for the verbal abuse, manipulation, and unfair treatment I received by her. Once I made these reports I was told that actions would be taken, but it seems like they will be keeping her for another season. I wanted to share my opinion and my story so that I can help someone before it's too late. Yes, the school itself is wonderful and if you're just going for academics it's a great school to be at. But if you're looking to also be an athlete I warn you to not go there, and if you're already there leave immediately.

Coppin State University is a great school. It has some more work to do but overall it’s a great place to further your education. In my opinion I would like to have better choices of food in the cafe. I also think there should be a little bit more security because I have some night classes and I don’t really feel safe walking back to my room sometimes. The dorm rooms are pretty much ok but I would like for it to be cleaner. Also the laundry room needs some work. Firstly the washing machines are always dirty and secondly, it would be a big weight off of our shoulders if washing was free or included in our tuition so that way we wouldn’t have to worry about if we will have enough money to do laundry. Coppin is still a wonderful school but We would love to see some more changes around the campus.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back to my senior year in high school I wouldn't change anything because I felt like my senior year was my best year. I was on the principal honor roll the whole year. I was also the manager of Jr. Varsity football team, indoor and outdoor track. I was also the star player on the varsity girls badmiton team. I really wish I could go back to the beginning of my high school experience so I could do as good as I did my senior year.

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I don’t believe in a “worst” situation. I believe that anything is possible and everything happens for a reason. I say this because everyone puts themselves in situations, but never think about the end result or the consequences later on down the line. So, I can proudly say that I have never experienced a “worst” situation at my university because I think about my consequences.
