I absolutely love Concord University. I have already been accepted to go there in the fall term of 2023, as I am currently a senior high school student. I come to the campus regularly to visit my friends, as well as I have done a visit of the campus itself to really get a feel of what the campus is like also in the classroom. I love how it is a community that is united together, a community where everyone is willing to help each other and not have drama. I love the environment of Concord and I truly am so excited to continue my academic career at Concord. I have met a few of the professors, as they all seem very nice. This University truly is one of the best ones I have visited, and I am just so happy to go to Concord in the fall of 2023 so I can get my bachelors degree in criminology. They have already given me such a good experience and I am not even fully admitted into the school yet. Thank you Concord!

Concord is primarily a school for locals who plan on getting jobs at the University or in the local area. Most of the staff, top administrators, and faculty graduated from Concord and have never taught or worked anywhere else. Therefore, Concord more closely resembles an internal colony of local profiteers who exploit their closeness to the area and connections to administrators and faculty for personal gain instead of an institute of higher learning. Maintaining excessive administrative salaries and bullying faculty and staff are the main priorities over education and student life and the administration consistently eliminates faculty and programs in order to maintain their excessive salaries and the excessive salaries of their unqualified and often incompetent loyalists. Systematic corruption, complacency, and unethical favoritism for friends, relatives, and loyalists from the area runs rampant and creates a toxic environment that is not conducive for value based academics and student life. This results in poor quality of delivery throughout campus and in many academic programs including the graduate programs. For example, several faculty in the MSW program who were Concord undergraduates from the local area just worked in the grant office, the social work office, or career services on campus for their MSW practicums and have never actually done any actual social work in the real world or even taught classes at any level before obtaining their teaching positions in the MSW program including the current director of the program. Meanwhile great faculty with degrees from some of the best schools in the nation and with decades of experience are often rejected for hire and consistently eliminated along with their programs to install poorly qualified loyalists in programs favored by the administration and to pad administrative salaries and the salaries of their loyalists. This is also true for all other programs the admin doesn’t like or value including those involving student life and even crucial departments such as the Registrar. If you are not a local, don’t plan on working on campus, and want a good education, avoid this school. This is especially true if you want to be a competent and ethical social worker after graduation and especially if you are an out of state student. The MSW program does not support out of state students like they do local students and often violates CSWE and NASW ethics rules to support locals over those from out of state, especially during required practicums in the program and after graduation. If you are from the area and just want to obtain a cheap degree, breeze through your classes, and then get a job on campus or in the local area where you don’t even have to do your job or do it well, then Concord is for you. Otherwise just pay more and go to a good school that values education over corruption, favoritism, bullying, and internal profiteering.

I am a Upward Bound student in Concord's Upward Bound program and I frequently visit as well as spend 6 weeks at Concord during the summer. I personally think the food is very unique and there is always a wide variety to choose from. I've also noticed the facilities are kept well and there is a lot to do on campus.

Emily - 03/30/2019

My overall opinion of Concord University is that it is a great college to attend. I enjoy how the class sizes are not extremely huge or have too many people in them. This gives a better chance to have a better and closer relationship with the professor/get help from them.
