It is a party school. It has a very southern background and the stereotypes that go along with that. It is not very diverse and is mainly girls.

Well, they're stereotypes - and usually I hear things like: either laid back or preppy, independent, i guess it might be a stereotype but really polite and nice - the Southern thing

A lot of people seem to think that CofC is a party school because we are located near the beach, but I do not think that there is any more partying here than there is at any other school. Of course there are always temptations, but you just need to be able to balance your academics along with your free time and make sure that your school work always comes first. According to one article that I've heard of, "If CofC students were any more laid back, they'd fall over."
