The best thing about Cal Poly is it's openess, and the variety of activites involved, and the people willing to get involved. Also the school encourages students to supplement classwork with a club or project on the outside. This leads many students to have very full, but well rounded resumes at the end of their undergraduate carreer.

The best part of Cal Poly is the professors that have career experience that they bring into the classroom. This allows them to give students information that actually pertains to the jobs that they will have after graduation. Also the classes are all very hands on which helps me because i am a hands-on learner. Being involved in what I'm learning helps make the information both more interesting and more understandable.

Cal Poly's moto is learn by doing. During my freshman year I jumped right into major courses and hands on work in my engineering field. The philosophy at Cal Poly allows students to be motivated not only by the staff and faculity, but by themselves and each other. Doing group projects or getting hands on experience allows for a great enviroment for the school and community around it.

Being career oriented while still providing several venues to have a successful social life. My major classes are usually demanding but also very worthy towards my carrer. At the same time, i am involved in multiple clubs and organizations outside of the academia world that allow me to be who i am and enjoy myself while i am at school. If your'e focused, it is very easy to manage both lives and enjoy your time at Cal Poly.

The atmosphere. The people are great, the weather's amazing, and the campus is awesome

I believe students should pick a college where they can feel comfortable because of the environment and Cal Poly has that.
