California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo Top Questions

What's unique about your campus?

Erika

I believe some of the best things about my school are the size, professors, and location. The size of the campus and classes offered here offer students a more intimate setting than many major universities and give them a better oppotunity for individual help. Because of this, the professors here are more than willing to help students and answer their questions. The town is small, so the students and professors live in the same community. They interact both in and outside of school, helping the small towns economy.

Andrew

The best thing is the push for academic success. They really make a push for students to succeed, it doesn't mean that everyone does, but they definitely are a conduit for success.

Stephen

Teacher's office hours because you can go to the teacher one on one for help outside the classroom.

Kelsey

The best thing about my school is that beautiful surrounding area. It has a lot of hiking and jogging back in hills and on the beach.

Chelsea

The relationship between faculty and the students is probably one of the best things at my campus. The professors make in effort to get to know you and your personal strengths and weaknesses.

Paul

This school has a great value for the education you get. For example, an engineering major that gets an engineering job can pay off loans very quickly. Also, if a student decides to pursue another path, they aren't left with loads of debt and a burden to go for a high-paying job. Money shouldn't be that important, and it's nice that Cal Poly allows students to live that way.

Andrilita

The success rate for students to find jobs after graduation, because of the school's reputation and standards.

Trevor

The orientation program that allows students to easily assimilate into the college community. It is all student run and managed, and is a week long experiences. Student involvement in general is very hight at Cal Poly

Reid

Stephen

Cal Poly's focus on hands-on learning and small class sizes makes it far more engaging and worthwhile.
