Bridgewater College is a good college that is worth the price. You’ll meet great teachers, make good friends, and experience the fun college life. You will also learn a lot of new things and use them in regard to after you graduate. They have many resources that are free and available to all students.

It is unique, please visit to better influence or hinder your decision. It has its ups and it has its downs, but so does any college or university. Everyone is unique in their own preferences and what they have to offer. Who knows? Maybe you can be the one to change these ratings.

Bridgewater is an unknown gem of a private college. Large amounts of financial aid make it more affordable than every state school in Virginia, and its location in the Shenandoah Valley surrounds you with a lot of culture and beauty. Class sizes are small and professors are looking to get to know every student. The student culture is fun and kind, and people will hold doors open for you. I genuinely love being here more than anywhere else.

Diana - 05/01/2020

My overall opinion of Bridgewater College is that the campus community is very well meshed together where almost everyone knows everyone. The class sizes are small and the professors are all willing to help you and know your name very well because of the class sizes. The academics are the reason we go to college and I believe that Bridgewater has great academics.

Bridgewater College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Bridgewater College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Bridgewater College is 52%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

While academics are the reason that people go to college, they should not be the sole focus at college. Academics are important, but most often, students are able to put forth 1/2 the effort and gain the same results. I am not saying that students should slack off, but that they should put things into perspective and not stress over the last sentence of a research paper. I am a Chemistry and Spanish double major, and I have a 3.77 GPA. I am on the varsity soccer and swim teams, a leader in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, tutor 4 times a week, and sleep at least 8 hours a night. As a senior, I spend less than 2 hours on homework a night. I have found that I am able to enjoy my college education fully, without stressing. I complete the work that is required with my best effort, but I do not stress about it and I allow myself to have time to relax and do other things as well. Academics are important, but college is about more than that. It is about developing who we are as people and preparing for the real world.

  4. What's unique about your campus?

The size is the best thing about Bridgewater because it is easy to interact with professors and students. The average ratio of teachers to students is 1:14... the biggest class I had was 30 students. I find it easier to pay attention and concentrate when there are less people around and the professors learn each students name so it becomes personal and you can build relationships easily.

  5. What kind of person should not attend this school?

I believe that Bridgewater College is a wonderful school and I'm glad I chose to attend here. For me, it is the perfect College, but if someone is looking for a large and busy city atmosphere then Bridgewater is not the place for them. It is a small, quiet campus and that is one of the many things that I love about it.

  8. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known that academics are so difficult. The social events and getting to know so many people is the greatest thing and belonging to a varsity sport is awesome! I feel I belong more by being part of the tennis team, even though it is difficult with academics in the Spring months. I wouldn't have it any other way though.
