Brazosport College is a community college that I attended as a dual credit student for two years. I loved almost all of my professors and I think that I learned plenty of valuable information in my time there, especially as a student worker. The professors are easily accessible through both office hours and email, and they all show interest in the students' success and well-being. My dad passed away while I was attending classes there, and I received an email from each of my professors offering their condolences and extensions on projects. I was also a student worker in the college's Writing Center for a year, and my boss was very understanding when I needed to spend extra time on classes or take time off to complete schoolwork. The work environment was very friendly and encouraging, and each of the other tutors were intent on helping students in whatever way they could. The student life is very active and there are multiple activities on campus for students to participate in, including academic fairs, pancake days, and many others. One of the coolest things about Brazosport College is their Strive 2 Drive program. Students earn Strive 2 Drive points by attending campus activities and tutoring sessions throughout the year, and at the end of each school year the school does a drawing from the students that have received points for a new Honda Civic. This event has benefited many students throughout the years and is a big draw for campus activity. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Brazosport College as both a dual credit student and a student worker, and I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking to complete their core classes or attain an associates degree.

The Professors here are enthusiastic to teach. I fell in love with subjects that I hated in high school. The classes are intimate and the professors care deeply about your education and future. They want you to succeed. It's a very comfortable atmosphere, and I hated leaving. Should this college be a stepping stone, they prepare you well for transferring.

Brazosport College goes above and beyond to make sure that their students feel prepared in all aspects of life. They offer free tutoring, online access, a student lounge and much more! They staff and faculty at Brazosport College care for the success of all students and will provide any resources they can to ensure that we all feel comfortable!

Honestly, it's a very comfortable school to be at where the teachers are nice and able to answer your questions thoroughly. The teachers are professional and the school is clean and nice. My favorite place is the library because it's big and spacious with two floors and private rooms you can get for study time. This is a good school that has quality education while close to home and small enough for you to feel comfortable but big enough to introduce you to the university scene if you are planning to transfer.

Brazosport College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Brazosport College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Brazosport College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

First things first, if i could go back in time and tell myself what I know now; I would start off by saying that no matter struggles life throws at you, things do get better. When i was younger I never had any encouragement at home or in school. I was surrounded by negative poeple who only discouraged my hopes and dreams. In high school I never pushed myself to full potential. This messing up my GPA. If i could do it all over again I would tell myself that what other poeple have to say and think doesnt matter. If im gonna do something then i should do it 100 percent and do it for myself not for anyone else. Another thing i would tell myself is that guys are only there to bring and slow you down. I wouldnt focus on guys like i did. I dated a guy for almost 4 years and all he did was physically and emotionally abuse me. I know i am better than that and thats why i chose the medical profession to help young people who dont have the support and help like myself.

Well, we have a lot, so I couldn't really tell you what's most popular. I know the organization I help lead, Revive.BC, is a great place to just hang out and be refreshed, and to worship.

  8. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Mostly that we're all engineers. :P It's fair--we're mostly a DOW or BASF school, but we have our share of art majors and whatnot.

  9. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I believe that the worst thing about my school is the fact that it is mainly based around the local Chemmical companies. I understand that they are part of the major funding towards our school but because of that and that it is only a 2 year school they don't offer much outside of the chemmical company background.
