DFLAEF Education Fund Scholarship Essay Contest

In order to apply for the DFLA Education Fund Scholarship Essay Contest, applicants must submit a 500-word to 800-word essay based on the year’s prompt. Each essay is scored based on originality, creativity, the strength of argument, acknowledgment of alternative perspectives, and proper use of grammar and spelling. BPW Virginia Ruff Scholarship for Continuing Education

This $1,000 scholarship honors Virginia Ruff, a member of Bedford BPW for more than 50 years at the time of her death in April 2002 at age 94. Hard Work Pays Off Scholarship – Heart of Virginia

The Warren Firm, a small personal injury law firm based in Charlottesville, Virginia, has created the Hard Work Pays Off Scholarship – a $2,500 scholarship available to graduating high school seniors from the following Virginia counties: Appomattox, Charlotte, Lunenburg, Nottoway, Amelia, Cumberland, Buckingham, and Prince Edward.

Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation Scholarship

The Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation offers scholarships worth $14,000. Two $2,000 scholarships for high school seniors and two $5,000 college/university scholarships.

PAF Scholarship for Virginia Undergraduate Survivors Program

PAF’s Scholarship for Survivors Virginia Undergraduate Scholarship is for U.S. citizens/VA students less than 25 years old going for an associate or bachelor’s degree who have been diagnosed with or treated for cancer or chronic illness.

Carolyn M. Harris HBCU Scholarship Award

The HBCU Council of Shiloh Baptist Church offers the Carolyn M. Harris HBCU Scholarship Award of $1,000 to an incoming freshman at an HBCU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who is a member of a musical group or (music) education major.

Kristine Williamson Memorial Endowment Scholarship

This scholarship is open to U.S. and international undergraduate and graduate students who reside and attend college/university in Virginia. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

AIST Southeast Member Chapter Gene Suave Scholarship

This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students in the AIST Southeastern Chapter (Southern Virginia, Eastern Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida) who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members.

Hershey Company Tribal Scholarship – Non-Tribal College Students

This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate students of American Indian or Alaskan Native descent who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are majoring in math, technology, science, engineering and/or business. Priority is given to students who are studying in or residents of Illinois, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.

AH&LEF Annual Scholarship Grant Program

This scholarship program is open to U.S. undergraduate students who are enrolled full time in a hospitality management degree-granting program. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (with the exception of the Conrad Hilton Fund, which accepts students with grade point averages of 2.0 or higher).
