Bethany college WV is an amazing school. I found a home and life long friends. If you like the outdoors and a small community feel, you'll love it here too. The school is active in a student's academic and personal lives. Students are occasionally invited over for dinner with the professor and they're family. Bethany College is home and has a place for everyone at the table.

Bethany College is a tremendous small college perfect for people who value tight social connections and small town/college vibes. Professors love interacting with students out of the classroom as you can often find yourself eating with a professor. We have a variety of clubs on campus to suit anyone's taste and offer active Greek life, sports, and honor societies. Not to mention one of the few college's in the states recognized for their undergrad oral and written comps, putting a Bethany degree above many.

  7. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about Bethany College is the small number of students who attend. I enjoy this factor because it gives each student time to interact one on one with the teachers. In class, the teacher has more time to address problems which the students are having if they do not understand the subject matter. I've learned it is easier to learn in a closed, personal setting. I focus better, and I interact with the class more.

  10. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing is our new president, Scott Miller. He just arrived and has decided to save money by cutting a lot of majors. One of those majors was mine, French. It should be mentioned that the Foreign Language department is trying in every way they can to help me graduate, and for that I thank them, but it is becoming more and more difficult because Dr. Miller refuses to provide me and the other five French majors with support and the tools needed to graduate with the proper knowledge in this field.

  11. What kind of person should not attend this school?

The type of student who should attend this school should strive to be the best student they can be. There is not any time to slack on schoolwork if you want to be a quality student, and get satisfactory grades.. Also, a person who likes a location of being away from the city would fit in this school. Bethany is not a place for a person who likes the city life.

  12. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known that there were going to be so many changes. I wish I has known that people are quite closed-minded here, although I should have suspected this. That's really it. I just wish these things wouldn't have come as such a shock to me. I'd be here anyway regardless of whether I'd known outrightly, but the shock and the transition that followed made my freshman year really frustrating.

If the enrollment was higher than it currently is, then Bethany College would be a junior ivy-league college.
