I was a returning student when I started at Mt Hood. The staff at the registrar helped me with my financial aid and the professors are easy to contact. The campus is also very beautiful with a nature walk area in the back. The extra plus is that parking is free!

Sydney - 07/07/2023

MHCC is in a safe area with plenty of walking paths to keep students connected to nature between classes. The library area is vast, with plenty of spaces to study. The cafeteria is okay, but there are restaurants and fast-food places nearby that provide other options if the on-campus food isn't satisfactory. There isn't any provided on-site housing but there are multiple apartment complexes surrounding the college. There is a wide variety of courses available to take across multiple disciplines, with wonderful teachers that are passionate about their work and want students to succeed. Additionally, within the library are student tutors that work to help other students succeed in challenging subjects.

I think it’s great and I have had some really amazing teachers form here in the past couple of years and everyone’s been amazing. I was really nervous when I first started because the campus was so big, but I really like the set up. I also love the library it’s big and spacious and has a lot of different rooms and spaces to study and the black rock is an added bonus.

LORENA - 09/04/2019

i love the school and it will be a great fit for anyone . theres club and alot of opportunity for anybody. theres sport and alot of major you can choose from. if you need any help theres always gonna somebody to help you succeed . you will need to live in campus i believe only fresham year than you can live outside the school dorm. theres stores and food places really close to you. you can meet new people everyday.

If I were still in high school, I would have tried much harder in my general studies because they are all required as you decide a career. I would also try more things and engage myself in more activities to see what I like most and what is it that Im good at so that way, I would'nt have to wonder what I want to do with my life because I believe high school is a great place for that.

  12. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

I think Mt. Hood Community College is best known for earlier years when the Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz was held there. But currently I think it's regarded as a competing college campus in diversity and boasts programs that you can find no where else on the west coast, like it's Funeral Services Program. Named for the beautiful volcano in it's background, and just minutes away from the Columbia River Gorge, this school couldn't be in a more ideal location.
