I believe that Wilkes Community College is a rather nice and welcoming college but has a lack of interesting courses. I applied to WCC in hopes to achieve my goal at gaining knowledge about my art career and further helping me on the path to my next desired college. However, they have only a few art classes with a rather apathetic teacher. I hope that the college opens up more Art classes and expresses a passion for the field of study such as I have. As for the lack of help with transferring to my other college, I believe that WCC should be more open and willing to help students who want to transfer out of state and give the same encouragement to students who transfer in state.

  6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known how undaunting attending college would be! I put off starting school because I was nervous and scared about what college would be like. However, once starting Wilkes CC all these fears slipped away. Between discovering all students were basically in the same boat and the teachers and staff being more like a friend, I had no reason to be so fearful. I wish I had known that and begun my college studies sooner.
