I love cape fear community college and wish I could’ve continued to go here but unfortunately had to move. It is a great school and has the #1 ADN program in NC! However, I found no longer stay due to the expense of living in Wilmington, I would love to possibly move back one day :)

My overall experience at CFCC has been positive. I started at CFCC as a Wilmington Early College High School student to get my associate's degree in science. CFCC was a great place for high school students to get integrated into college life without having to jump in head first. I actually had such a positive experience at CFCC that after graduating from high school I decided to change my educational path from transferring to a four-year university to staying at Cape Fear to join the Radiography program. I would highly recommend this school and its positive environment, great classes, and encouraging teachers.

As a current student of Cape Fear Community College, I have found my time very pleasing here. The professors are very well-spoken and take the time to learn every student's name and to make sure that our education is put first. The college offers many opportunities for us, especially when advancing to our careers.

Don't wait! The easy cash you are enjoying from waiting tables is not going to help you build a solid future or hold your interest, and certainly isn't going to be good for your back in the long run! But don't go to school for the wrong reasons. You know you are pulled towards helping people and are interested in the health fields, so why take classes in another area just to please other people. If you follow your heart now, you won't find yourself going back to school 20 years later to finally follow your interests. You're going to be a mom and are going to have dreams for your own kids, so follow yours now and be the example you want them to follow. Have faith in yourself, you're going to be amazed at what your are going to accomplish!

  3. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish that I would have known that I can only transfer 64 semester hours from a community college to a university. I probably would have gone straight t a university, but it costs too much to attend. It's cheaper just to transfer to a university and get all the core classes out of the way.

I have classmates that are cooperative with the teacher and interactive in the classroom. Each individual is unique in his/her own way. I know just about each student in the classroom because we all interact in group discussions, labs that I have in Chemistry class, or class discussions we have as a whole. My classmates are all smart individuals that are willing to learn what we need to know to pass the class.

I am the non-traditional student, married with 3 children, one who is about to enter college herself. I have decided to go back and attend Cape Fear Community College to pursue a career as a surgical tech. Cape Fear is known for their excellence in this program and for the tech's that come out of this program. I was nervous as it has been a long time since I was in school, but I had faith and went for it. I was recently accepted to the surgical tech program and was one of only 16 chosen to begin in August 2015.
