Mt. SAC is an incredible 2-year college with amazing facilities, staff, and people. It is more of a commuter school. Most of the professors I have had have been incredibly caring and supportive. The campus is growing into a more modern school with all new athletic facilities as well as new classrooms and a new student center; some may say our facilities are nicer than those at a 4-year or private school.

Mount San Antonio College is an overall great school with many opportunities. The school campus is well maintained and consists of an equestrian, planetarium, horticulture greenhouse, and on-site child care center. Additional student resources are available and readily accessible.

Overall great college. It has a lot of new facilities. The professors are helpful and want you to succeed. There are a lot of opportunities to take different classes that you might be interested in. You also get to meet new people inside of your classes.

Adeeb - 10/13/2022

I think the school overall is very sheltered and many people walk around with a stick up their bum. Many people are also very entitled but the professors want to actually help the students here. I also think the extracurricular events outside of classes are very useful and very fun for people trying to make friends.

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Mt San Antonio College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

As a senior I always wanted to attend a 4 year college instead of a community college. But now that I have experienced a 2 year college, I feel that it has helped me tremendously in the transition process. If I could go back, I would strongly suggest attending a two year college first and later transferring. This will still give you the college experience without feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of a four year such as moving away from home and living in a new environment. Plus, it will save you a great deal of money which can be invested in other things and you won't have as many student loans to pay off in the future.

  9. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

My school offers great opportunities. For example, there is the EOPS program that helps students with families of low income. Not only does EOPS offer this opportunity to low income family students, but students of first college generation are welcome to join. Also, this program helps you financially and offers tutoring and great counselor advice. This specific program helps you get through college and achieve your goals. Thanks to Mt. San Antonio College programs many students are able to achieve their goals.

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

At Mt. SAC, class registration is probably the most difficult thing. Because we're such a large school, classes fill up quickly! However there are several ways around this, and many of them are painless. If you play a sport, playing for one of the teams will get you priority registration. Running for a student government position is also helpful. Other ways of receiving priority are through - having a documented disability, participating in EOPS, joining one of the several music ensembles (some of which require no musical background!), or seniority (meaning you have over 40 units!).

  13. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Before coming to Mt. SAC I wish I would have been aware of how truly encouraging and helpful all the staff is. From administration to professors I have yet to meet someone hesitant to answer a question or offer some advice for my future career goals. Had I of known about these accommodations I doubt I would have waited so long to return to college.

  15. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

The stereotype at Mt.SAC is that students that come here are "dumb" or "stupid" people that could not get into any public or private schools from high school. This stereotype could not be anymore wrong. Many students that I have met got into schools such as University of Southern California, University of California, Riverside and Pepperdine University. The primary reason why they come to Mt.SAC is that it is much cheaper. These students either did not qualify for enough scholarships or their parents could not afford to pay for their housing, food, or tuition.
