What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Attending college has been the most amazing time of my life, its the only thing that keeps me sane. I had a terrible child hood and school was hard on me even in highschool, becasue the outcast or what you would call a loner. When I went to college it gave me something to look foward to, and I loved going to school. just meeting new people that I could actually call friends was thrilling and It made me a better person. It is really hard to afford college even with Student aid, I dont even want to ask my parents for help any more because I know they will say no.
My expericenes were wonderful all around, from the help of a single professor to meeting a group of people that can change your lives for the better.
Its valuable to me because...it actually saved my life.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
William Jessup is a small, private university with a tiny yet beautiful campus and a limited number of students; this characteristic makes for more chances to learn personally, speak with professors, be comfortable with your campus family (those who live on campus with you) and build important relationships that benefit your spiritual, emotional, mental, academic, and physical awareness and stability.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
What i like about this school is that the system that is in place is one that is supportive and focuses on the student. Everyone in the admissions office is really hands on and personalize your enrollment process. They let you know what exactly you need in order to continue to the next step. The way the classes are set up is a cohort model, which is great because the group of students that you start your educational journey with, are the same group of people that you walk with at graduation. To me having the cohort model is a plus as oppose to other colleges or universities. I just became a student but in talking to those that are in current students or alumni have shared nothing but positive experiences about their time at William Jessup University.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish that I had known that although small schools are great and I love Jessup, there are some difficulties going to a small, fast-growing school. There are a lot of changes going on at Jessup in order to accomodate the vast amount of new students that will attend. Some of the alterations call for imperfect circumstances. Sometimes it is hard to adjust to the differences, but you just have to trust that the faculty is making the best decisions they know how to do because they truly care about each and every student which you can easily see.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
I think that most students will treat others with a lot of respect even if they don't agree on everything. Yes, I attend a Christian university, but everyone is welcoming and encouraging to each other. Students are told about Christ's love for them, but they are not pushed. Also, the faculty treats everyone fairly. If a student is uncomfortable going to a Christian school maybe they shouldn't attend, but if they want to stretch their understanding and be thrust into an inviting, loving community they should attend.
