The type of person who I view should attend the college would be the self driven individual. Without the drive or care to succeed/learn then the student would only be hurting themselves by attending Washburn University, or to continue schooling after high school. Those who have the desire to learn, are respectful of not only the institute but the professors and students, and who want to better themselves will feel right at home. It matters not if the studend learns at a slower pace, it will just take more dedication and the return on the investment will be sweet.

You have to be motivated. You are your boss, so if you dont want to go to class no one is making you, but you will not succeed if you dont go to class. It is very important to understand that you need to attend class to do well. It is a very fun school when you get involved and meet people because there is always something to do.

One who wants a smaller campus size

Someone who is willing to learn should attend Washburn University. The professors are very good about keeping attendance, so everyone has to show up almost everyday unless they provide the professor with an excuse as to why they missed class. Also the professors tend to give a lot of pop quizzes so that way even if they didn't keep attendance they would be able to see who was in class and who was not. The professors definitely challenge you in a way that you have never been challenged before.

I think the type of person that should attend this school is someone who likes to work in a close environment with their teachers and their classmates. The classes are smaller so one would get more one on one time with their proffessor. This is a very educated oriented school and offers many resources to help the student. The close environment allows one to make friends and get involved easier as well so if you do not want to be just another face in the crowd this is the perfect school for you.

The kind of person that should attend this school is one that should be ready to be challenged and has a high standard of education. This person should be motivated and willing to put forth the effort to do whatever is necessary to succeed.

Washburn is for students who want the "college experience" and feel of being on a real campus, but enjoy smaller classes and a small student to teacher ratio. Football games, basketball games, music concernts are all free to students! Washburn is also a good place for nontraditional students.
