What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Kimberly

I wish I would have known more about what the classes would be like, and more about the life of a college student. The transition from high school to college is a big step. One, the level of the classes was much higher in college which makes it much more difficult to adjust to that. Also, trying to have a whole different style of trying to learn, which would include a whole different style of studying. As for the college life, it was very had trying to adjust from living at home to living by yourself.

Before coming to school at Platteville I wish I would've come up here my freshman year and met with an advisor to set up a four year education schedule so when I transfered up in the fall of 2009 I was a little bit more goal oriented. Also, I wish I would've come up to visit the campus more prior to attending. I felt this would've better prepared me for the transition and also allowed myself to become familiarized with the location and surroundings of Platteville.

Nothing. If I would have known what I know now I would never have gotten to experience and learn from everything that I have done. Some good and some bad experiences. Just be willing to work hard and be open minded to the world. You never know who you will meet or what you will learn. Its a great big world out there that holds so much more than any of us know.
