The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie provides endless opportunities to college students, in and out of the classroom, at a fraction of the cost of other campuses. Although it is a 2-year campus, many 4-year degrees are offered through partnerships with the larger USC Campuses. Professors and campus staff like these - who truly care about the success of each student - are hard to find.

Gaylela - 05/03/2018

This is an underfunded school in a small town. There isn't on-campus housing but there is a private apartment building with suite-style rooms that have four bedrooms and two bathrooms in each suite. There is no café and the closest grocery store is an IGA; there is a Wal-Mart twenty-five minutes away. Management and resident advisors at the apartment building are under qualified and tend to show favoritism.

University of South Carolina-Salkehatchie is a very interesting school. When I enrolled in the school there was no housing, my freshman year the school put us in a moldy hotel. I went to Salkehatchie because they offered me more money than any of the other universities I applied for. The staff in the school are very nice and understanding, for the most part Allendale is a good community. The good thing about Salkehatchie is that there is a campus in Allendale and Walterboro, South Carolina. I graduated from Salkehatchie in 2016, even though I do not attend Salkehatchie I still stop by the campus for tutoring and to work on some assignments. Salkehatchie is only a two year college but you are allowed to enroll in a 4-year program. Salkehatchie is good for students that are not ready for a big campus and want to start off small.
