What's the most frustrating thing about University of Sioux Falls?

Kira

I must say that the most frustrating thing about the University of Sioux Falls is our recreational facilities. We have a lot of lounges to use, but I have no desire to make use of them. Of the two lounges nearest to me, neither one has functioning DVD players, one has a broken cable jack, and the other only gets 13 channels of cable. If they expect people to want to stay on campus and make use of their facilities then they need to make sure things work to begin with.

The most frustrating thing about my school is the lack of money for the theater program. We have an outstanding director and all of the performers just want to bring in new people so that we can share our love for theater and the fine arts. While we do have enough money to put on performances it is aggravating when we do not always have some of the things that we need or the recognition that is deserved after all the work we put into a performance.

One of the most frustrating things about my school is feeling like I a not have enough time to finish my homework. I feel that I need an extra three hours to be able to fit in all that needs to be done in a day, especially around this time of the year with finals just around the corner. The need to manage your time wisely in college is highly recommended and is the one frustrating aspects of college.

Janelle

When your a transfer student and over the age of 24 sometimes connecting with the younger students can be difficult.

As a social work major I would expect that classes required for my major be taught by a non-adjuct staff. It is frustrating to feel like this person (although a great social worker herself) is an inexperienced instructor and I am not recieving the best education I could recieve from USF. Another big frustration is not having access to wireless internet in our dorm rooms. Most school work requires the use of internet and it is sometimes distracting to go to a public place for homework. While paying extra to go to USF I would expect this access availability.

Koln

The fact that it is a smaller school and that the sport I am in doesn't recieve as much respect as most of the others.

Kasey

I would say that the most frustating thing about my school is the location of the campus. I would like it way better if our campus and our athletic complex was in the same place. Also one of the most frustrating things about my school is that there is not enough parking spaces; when I come to class in the morning it is very hard to find a parking spot and sometimes I have to park on the street couple blocks away from the school.

The University is struggling financially. I have not followed the discussions closely, but I understand the nation's economic comdition as well as some financing decisions have caused the problem. Last year, amongst other things, the decision was made to reduce pay for the staff. While none of the professors have said anything, I am frustrated that they, along with many members of our community, are suffering financially. The only other frustration is in trying to maintain a bablance. I want to get the most out of my education but must also maintian my other responsibilities, family, work and fun.
