University of Rhode Island Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about University of Rhode Island?

Dayna

The most frustrating thing about my school is that there is nothing to do there (activities, entertainment), you have to pay way too much for everything. For the amount of money we're paying, we should have an amusement park or a resort to hang out at. There is not enough parking space, and it's too expensive to get a permit. Everyones just doing their job, not really getting involved and making a comfortable environment.

It's dead on the weekends. Everyone goes off campus and then there's nothing to do on campus but watch movies, drink or find some way to get off campus. The school doesn't sponsor enough activites spaced throughout the year.

The best way to answer this question is through 2 categories (academic and social). Academically, the most frustrating thing is competition. For example, URI's business school is the most in-demand for students. Many want to major in a business-related field. If your GPA is not high enough, or if you struggle in Accounting classes, the business school will reject you and suggest finding another major. Socially, it is the dry campus policy. This is the time in a person's life to truly enjoy themselves, but strongly enforced rules penalize those who get caught partying on campus.
