What I have gotten out of my experience dealing with college is that , I have teachers who believed in me and they know what they are talking about, and has no problems on helping out the students. I have intresting and unique classmates who comes from all over the place. I have learned new ways of processing information and using that on a test. The friends that I have made at the college, and the closeness that we have become to one and another. How it been valued to me is that college help me become the person that I am. College made me challenge myself to ways that I have never been challenged before. My family have been proud of me for attending college and having confidence to want to do my all and succeed to the highest that I can go. I was able to have better grades than what I recieved in high school, and be able to keep those same grades again and again. The value that I see from attending college is the confidence that I have gotten knowing that I have the way to become someone who feels better in their skin, and mind.

It is through education, particularly increasing your knowledge, that you have a better opportunity for the type of life you set out ahead for yourself. Where one does not have knowledge one cannot progress. You will stay stagnant like a magnet attracting nothing and going nowhere.
Quality of life, how does one achieve that? I am sure that this answer varies; however, it is safe to say by choosing to gain knowledge through education and go to college an individual will always be moving and progressing in a forward motion. Choosing to improve oneself through knowledge and a higher education would never be a waste of time or money because an individual improves. A true return on your investment! Yes, one may say I don’t need education to make money. However, I would tell them you are a fool to limit yourself and your potential by limiting your scope of skills and knowledge stifling your own growth and not allowing yourself to learn something new and valuable for a lifetime!
I believe that investing your time and money by going to college and getting your education, boundaries are endless and the time and choice made is never a waste.

It has giving a sense of pride and accomplish not only for me but for my kids. I want my kids to follow my example and go to college and graduate with a degree, but if I don't led by example then how can I expect my kids to be succesful in life. College has giving the tools I need to folow my dream, to one day become a high school counselor and helps those kids in need, the one abuse by parents, neglected by their parents and maybe told by their parents that would never accomplish nothing and life, why becouse I can related to them and I can show them that no matter what , if they are willing to go after their dream, they can accomplish it.

I was a non-traditional student from the outset, as I took the Fall semester off and had a child immediately following high school. I preservered for ten years going to community college and then graduating with my Bachelors degree from the University of Phoenix in April 2002. What I learned during the process was tenacity, team work, relying on myself, and proof that I could overcome the odds.

At Blinn College in Texas, I'm an active member of PTK Honor Society and Sociology Club, as well as president of Anthropology Society, which I helped establish in October 2009. As president of Anth Society, I've organized other campus groups to help restore a local abandoned cemetery. This project made the front page of the local paper and received great support from the community. Also, I attended the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Conference in Seattle and the PTK Texas Regional Conference in Houston this semester. These were invaluable learning opportunities. I hope to have the funds to do more in the coming year. The point of this essay is to give thanks to Blinn College for making these opportunities possible. I could not have done any of these things without the support of faculty, staff, and fellow students. I love being part of this college. It offers so much to students. If I'm awarded this scholarship, I will use it wisely, and will strive as hard as I can to be a student who contributes to my school and represents it in a positive way. Thank you for considering my application.

So far I have been able to do thing that I thought i had forgot. But the school that I am attending is very supportive. Being a single parent of 4 school has giving me a since of independence. I finally feel that not only can I do something for myself but , I can set a good example for my children. And this feels great.

I have learned more from the University of Phoenix than i have at any other university, due to the fact of the flexible full time schedule that they have. I am able to attend school full time once a week, and still manage my work and family life as well. The faculty is a combination of experienced proffesionals who are very interactive with their students. I know that when i leave the university of phoenix, I will be well prepared for my proffession. I have met friends that I am sure I will have for the rest of my life!

Waiting almost ten years after my high school graduation to finally attend college, I have a unique perspective on college. I have been in the workforce for the past ten years and have learned first-hand the difficulties associated with having only a high school diploma. My job has become increasingly less interesting and I have reached the income cap for my current profession and so college has opened up both financial and intellectual options for me. My college experience has been intellectually stimulating, given me purpose, helped me find direction, but mostly it has given me hope. I have the hope of providing a better life for my wife and children and I have the hope of a promising career in a field that I both love and have been trained. College has changed my life and the value I have received has far outweighed the numerous sacrifices and costs to attend.

I haven't been to college yet.
