What is the stereotype of students at University of North Texas? Is this stereotype accurate?

Brittany

There is a stereotype that UNT students are liberals, hippies, pot-heads, or students that could not get into any other school. While there are some students who fit these stereotypes, most of the UNT population are just normal everyday students, not slackers or druggies.

I think the the stereotype for most students at UNT, is that it is a very artsy, and liberal school. I do believe that this is a pretty accurate stereotype. When most people think of colleges, especially ones in the south, they imagine a lot of preppy, sorority/fraternity students wearing nothing but khakis, and polo's who party all the time. UNT has a very low greek population and is an extremely diverse campus. We have students from all ethnicities, and backgrounds. We have everyone from the artsy students, to the preppy greek students. You can see all types of students on a daily walk through campus.

UNT is said to be full of hippies, stoners, and engineers. I will not deny that we have many of those students on campus, but I will say UNT has so much more. The student body is diverse and it is easy to find people you will fit in with thanks to the selection of clubs and organizations. UNT cannot be summed up with a stereotype. It is best to observe the different students first hand.

The stereotype of the students at the University of North Texas is that most of the students are less educated or not as smart at the students that attend colleges such as A&M or UT. However, UNT is filled with the most dynamic and diverse students I have ever seen. Almost every individual has their own unique personality and are really intelligent. Each student has a drive and determination and an actual passion in their classes.
