My overall opinion is that this school is just the right size, even tough some classes might be quite large most of them are not bigger than about 50-100 students. This school doesn't really have a "college town" and most students leave on weekends so on weekends it's like a ghost town, this partly due to the fact that the majority of students live off campus. There is some school pride when it comes to basketball and soccer but overall it's not the biggest school on sports and so forth, hopefully that will change with the football stadium being built for 2013. The best advice I can give incoming freshman is to not live in the highrises because their really old, lack good AC in the summer and are far way from the student union and the best dining hall on campus.

I love UNC Charlotte. As a school, the programs and professors are incredible. The best thing about the school is the location. You're so close to everything from the small towns around us and the big city. There are so many opportunities in a variety of majors. It often gets ignored as a school because of the lower admission requirements but there are so many opportunities for success for the students.

I would say the best thing about this school is that it is in the very north part of Charlotte, so you have this area devoted to the college lifestyle with UNCC discounts and college housing that is affordable and easy. This whole area where UNCC is located is known as "University" and the best part is that Charlotte is still so big, there is huge nightlife in downtown Charlotte and there is a ton to do, there are even buses that come to campus that you can take downtown if you do not have a vehicle. There is a huge concert arena right around the corner, a race track 10 minutes away and an enormous mall. There is plenty to do in Charlotte, the campus is fairly sized, many people, but mostly commuters. I spend most of my time in the student union where there are multiple restaurants, coffe shops, and even a movie theatre and pool table area. There are a lot of student events that you can be a part of here. UNCC is now in the process of building a football stadium so the school unity and spirit will increase, which for me may currently be the downfall but that is soon to change. The staff here is very personal and the departments are very encouraging and kind, they have helped me out numerous times with very last minute challenges. This school has made such an impression on me, through UNCC I was able to get an internship for Organizing for America and I worked on numerous candidate campaigns such as the Mayor of Charlotte's reelection campaign. Through this internship I was able to work a function with the Whitehouse for the President's visit to Asheville this past fall. UNCC has created amazing opportunities and friendships for me, as well as many other students.

I think UNC Charlotte is a great school! Everyone is beyond friendly and there is always an administrator, professor, friend, etc. willing to help you succeed! Majority of the time, there is always something to do on campus, whether it be an event sponsored by the Campus Activity Board (CAB), a sporting event, or an event held by the Resident Advisers (RA's) of the dorms. Academically, UNCC challenges it's students to not only think outside the box but to apply knowledge acquired in the classrooms to everyday life. Whereas some students may be afraid to ask their professors for help, there is a solution for that as well. There are several free tutoring options on campus in all subjects and the tutoring sessions are led by students and teacher assistants (TA's). Last but not least, there are a number of student organizations that one can join. They range from volunteer organizations, organizations strictly for certain majors, fraternities, sororities, and on up to a gospel choir. To top it all off, the campus is gorgeous and all construction has yet to be finished. Overall, I would say that UNC Charlotte is a spectacular university that offers it's students endless opportunities.

The best thing about this school is the type of people that are here. There are some strange folk's but there are strange people everywhere. I really enjoy the friends that i have made here and almost everyone i have met is usually pretty nice. I would definitely change the campus police system. The campus police is more worried about catching people with under aged drinking tickets than trying to stop the muggings we have about once a month. Now, the population of this school is around 25000 students which might make it hard to try and stop the robberies going on but they definitely need to make a better effort. With a student population of 25000, you are always meeting new people and if you mess up a relationship with someone than there are a lot more people to start one up with. With this many students we definitely have some school spirit, our mens soccer team went to the championship round this year and over 150 students went to watch them 9 hours away. I do love this school and i will always remember the great times spent with my friends but i would like for the entire city to relax on underage college student drinkers. They need to catch people drinking drunk, not just drinking casually with a group of friends.

I love UNCC; I dreaded the idea of going to UNCC my first semester with the intention of transferring to a "prestigous" school after my first year but realized that I had it good at UNCC and decided to persue my full undergrad here.

I love Charlotte. It was the best decision that I could have made when it came to deciding what college to attend. I especially love being a student-athlete here.

The first thing that attracted me to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte was its beautiful campus and positive environment. UNC- Charlotte is a wonderful place to experience college life; there are many opportunities on campus as well around Charlotte for anyone to make their dreams a reality. I spend the majority of my time in three places: the Student Union, the Library and the Gym. The Student Union is a great place to spend time with friends, find out about activities on campus and even study! The Library is also a place that i spend a lot of time in because it is a nice, quiet place to have study groups, write papers and find many resources. I also spend a lot of time in the gym working out as well as attending basketball and volleyball games. Here at UNC- Charlotte school spirit is a BIG deal! No matter what sports game you attend I can guarantee that you will see a section of Niner Nation cheering on their Charlotte 49ers!. I love UNC- Charlotte and I am so glad I made the discussion to become a 49er!
