What do you consider the worst thing about University of Missouri-Columbia? Why?

The lack of minorities that represent a variety for students who are black, like me. Columbia, MO is not the friendliest town towards black students, which makes it even more stressful that there aren't more black students attending this school.

Personally, I think it is too big but I am from a small town and like my rural life, so it is just a bit too much.

The school doesn't have a very strong reputation outside the state, except in certain professions (journalism). People don't give this great place enough credit, I think.

Not everyone seems to be there to learn and the one's who are not tend to drag others around them down. Certain people should be watched more closely and if they do not show proper academic or social responsibilities there should be consequences.

I believe the worst aspect of the University of Missouri is their career center. When I first visited the center, I was hoping to sit down and talk with a professonal who has been in the work force and has real-life experience in obtaining a job. Instead, I was only able to talk to a fellow student who referred me to career books and pamphlets. When I was considering this school, I was told they have an excellent career center, but it turns out that it was not very useful at all.

Lauren

I can't really think of anything that I would consider "worst" about my school.
