I love it! The classes are difficult, but that's what we should expect at college. I have two favorite things about my school.
1) There are about 35,000 students so you can meet someone new every day if you wanted to! Also, if there is someone you don't want to see, you don't have to!
2) There are hundreds of student organizations to get involved with. It's hard to not get involved.

Choosing to attend the University of Georgia has been the best decision of my life. While the school is very large, it is extremely easy to meet people with common interests within clubs, Greek Life, sports. And of course, everyone here has the same love for the university's football team, the Bulldogs. One of the best things about UGA is a Saturday afternoon in the fall spent with the entire student body in glorious Sanford Stadium. Another wonderful thing is the city of Athens, which has built up around the university and supports the lifestyle of the students. The music scene is fantastic, as is the food (which is cheap, but delicious). Athens is an absolutely gorgeous city as well, and the scenery around and within the university is simply spectacular; there's always an excuse to study outdoors.

Athens is definitely a college town. The stores, restaurants, and everything downtown Athens caters to the students! UGA also has HUGE fan base. On game days, there are flocks of people taking up any empty space on campus to pregame, barbecue, and etc. There are all kinds of people that show up and all kinds of ages - from babies to old alumni .

UGA is a great opportunity because it offers a huge amount of things to do and chances for anything you're interested in. If you want to meet students from other countries, then you can go hang out at one of the International Coffee hours. Conversely, if your only purpose is to get a good education and study, the Miller Learning Center has a very quiet fourth floor as well as study rooms for groups on every level. Personally, I spend a great deal of time studying there.
Moving outside of the school directly, Athens is a great town if you're into local music and art. AthFest is a big deal every year and occupies the majority of the downtown area with concerts and art showings. The Classic Center hosts concerts and plays as well throughout the year. Downtown Athens also has several great places.
One complaint that people often make about UGA is just how large it is. While I agree that it is a very large university, if you want to make it a more personal experience, it is within everyone's power to do so. If research is your interest, the Center for Undergraduate Research can help facilitate this from your freshman year is you so desire. Other opportunities involve numerous seminars and clubs that can put you in contact with people with similar interests. One obvious but overlooked opportunity is to simply talk to your professors outside of class. Some may be more personable than others, but if you search around online, it shouldn't be hard to find a good professor.

I love my school. There is always something to do: some type of program going on, some kind of party to go to, someone passing out free food, and some new study abroad, leadership, and scholarship opportunities. People in each educational department are helpful in getting you on the right track to success. Although the campus is big, once you get to meet people, it'll seem smaller. Everyone at UGA is generally in the top 20 percentile of their graduating class so it is a very competitive environment. Downtown Athens is almost always lively and on football Saturdays, it's swarmed in a sea of Red and Black and a roaring "GO DAWGS" travels through the air.

The best thing about UGA is probably football. Not just because its fun, but because there is such a unity that comes from being up in the student section with people that love UGA and football just as much as you do. I love that you find so many people walking around that have a lot in common with you. However, UGA is a big school. It is very easy to get lost, but most professors understand the first few days of classes. Everyone is very nice here, but you have to be careful not to get lost in the crowd of faces in class. Make yourself known to the professor. It really helps.
