The value of the traditions here on campus are so unique that the best way to describe the area we are in is Aggieland. We are the fightin' Texas ags and we mean business when it comes down to tradition.

We have the biggest and longstanding tradition of school spirit and a unique alumni network across the globe. We continue to branch out yearly, enveloping diverse objectives and unique people into the Aaggie spirit and way of life. We exude greatness and envelop all students with a friendless that eminates from even the farthest corners of campus. I can walk anywhere and find a friendly face; willing to help me anytime I need. This school pulled me in, making me feel like I had a unique purpose and a special place on campus. I love it at school.

There is an extremely strong sense of tradition and school spirit. There is little diversity, even though the university stresses their efforts to improve this situation. Football games are the biggest event in town. While the university is located in a small town, it has most of the amenities of a larger town or city.

Sarah

The traditions! We have so many traditions--it's unlike anything I've ever known. They accelerate school spirit and make everyone feel like they're part of A&M--like it's their home. I have been at A&M for a year and a half, and I still don't know all of the school traditions. It makes life here fun.

Erica

There is a sense that you belong there and you're not just going through the motions in order to recieve your education.

Amber

The school spirit is unlike any other and the traditions are old, new and always being added to. The students are extremely friendly and are not afraid to welcome visitors.

Brett

At this school it seems like your either a party/drinking lifestyle kind of person or your religious. Then there are both groups includes in frats and sororities. Football is important here.

In comparison to other schools in the United States, Texas A&M University is unique because of many things - beginning with its history. The school began in 1867, allowing only men as Corps of Cadets in its ROTC program. In World War II, its ROTC program provided more men to help fight against the foreign threat for peace. Now the school allows women, along with a diverse student body of different ethnicities, cultures, languages, talents, and skills. Collectively, as Aggies we proudly the honor traditions that reflect a respect for its history and also fallen Aggies who attended A&M.

I absolutely love my school, and I cannot emphasize that enough. I know that thousands of current students and alumni feel the same way. Texas A&M University is rooted in tradition, and is marked by respect, friendliness, and hospitality. It is a welcoming environment that remembers the past, looks towards the future, and welcomes everyone into the Aggie community. I have several international student friends who have been welcomed to this school, and have gotten to know and love its traditions. Very few people leave Texas A&M without having been impacted by the Aggie spirit of giving service.

Our school is known for being extremely friendly and having tons of school spirit. Everyday you choose between twelve different maroon shirts to wear and when someone says "Howdy!" you reply with "HOWDY!" right back. My school thrives on tradition and its school spirit. We have a saying that goes "From the outside looking in you dont understand it; From the inside looking out, you cant explain it." Thats all I can say whenever people ask me about my school. Its the Aggie spirit and it is like no other school I've seen.
