Southern Connecticut State University Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Southern Connecticut State University? Why?

Ivette

That it is not very school spirited and a lot of people go home on the weekends.

Emily

that you have to take 3 "W" courses before you are allowed to graduate, yet the school does not offer a lot of "w" courses each semester so it is easy to not take them, therefore it is easy to get behind!

The administration. They lose everything from paperwork to payments, frequently drop students from their classes without reason or notification, and change rules and don't adhere to the law of "grandfathered in" like they are obligated to. There are a million stupid rules and ridiculous amounts of tedious paperwork in order to do anything, and the administrative staff is more concerned about power trips and covering their own asses than they are with helping students or listening to reason.

In my opinion, the worst thing about Southern Connecticut State University is the lack of parking spaces for students. I am a student who appreciates the value of education and enjoys going to school to learn. There have been times that I have arrived on campus early to get to class on time, but still found myself walking through the door up to fifteen minutes late because of the lack of parking spaces. As a student paying for their education, I would love to have increased parking so that I can get into my seat early, prepared to learn.

The worst thing about the school is the housing distribution. The waiting list for housing is constantly increasing each year.

Ashley

I do not like how there is not much that goes on at our school. Nights are boring, unles you want to go out and spend 50 bucks going to a club.

A lot of small tightly woven groups who aren't very outgoing... I came in as a transfer student and have had trouble being socially accepted. Also very few students live on campus... Alot of commuters and very little activity on the weekends.
