San Joaquin Delta College Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about San Joaquin Delta College? Why?

Tyler

The problems that I currently face with my school is getting enrolled into the courses that I need to prepare for my intended major. Every time I try to enroll in a prerequisite course, that course requires another prerequisite. On top of that, that prerequisite to get into the next course is either not available for the semester that I am currently enrolled in, but if it was available, there is only one teacher available. With one teacher available, this makes it more difficult to even enroll in the course.

The worst thing about my school would probably be the class cuts that have been going on. This has been a major problem for many of us because some of the courses that have been cut are classes we need. Many low basic skill classes have been cut and these are classes that many students at Delta College need. However due to the crisis this is understandible.

The worst thing about my college is that it doesn't offer a variety of classes in the political science area. My major is American Studies and Politics, so I really wished the school could offer more classes that explore this area. Currently the college only offers three classes that touch the subject.

Kathryn

The worst thing about attending San Joaquin Delta College is the impacted classes. If you do not register right when registration opens, you have absolutely no hope of attending classes the following semester.

Mayra

The worst thing about my school is probably that many classes get filled up very quickly. You need to see a counselor as soon as possible so you know what classes to take, so they will not get filled up and then you will be left without the classes that you need to move on.

Erika-Alexandra

The worst thing about my school is that classes get full too fast. It is a disadvantage for many students when this happens because those who are on the waiting list do not always get in. Then they end up taking a class that they did not want or they must wait for another semester to take that class. This can sometimes lead to a delayed graduation because they must spend a longer time in the school than they had anticipated.

Stephany

I think that the worst thing about my school is that some required classes are not available for long periods of time. Some of my friends have been trying to get into a required course only to find out that it has been cancelled because not enough people were enrolled.

Kassandra

I have a difficult time figuring out who to call or email about a situation.
