A person who is willing to continously learn, to deepen their understanding of the world and others, and someone who is willing to grow in their faith. A person who is willing to grow academically, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

A woman who is not open to growing as a person and learning about empowerment should not attend Saint Mary's College. The faculty and staff at SMC work hard to make each student reach her own potential. A woman who is not ready to work hard for every A she earns should not attend this institution.

men. people who are radically different from the norm.

If you are a person who is not interested in higher learning, this school is not for you. You need to be dedicated to your studies. Classes are tough but they are rewarding. Also if you do not like smaller class sizes, you should go to a different school. The average class size is about 15 so there is much more one-on-one learning here than at other schools. Professors know you by name and make an effort to help you personally.

There is always the saying that it takes a special girl to be a Saint Mary's girl but since I have been there I do not believe that any more. I feel that there is not one type of person who should not attend Saint Mary's becuase there is always a group of people where they will fit in. The only exception I see to this would be people who do not want go to a small liberal arts school, or those who want to go to a co-ed school.

I feel a student who wishes to remain unnoticed or is not serious about their education should not consider Saint Mary’s College. Most, if not all, professors know each of their students by name within the first week of classes. Students are challenged through demanding coursework and expected to attend each class fully prepared if they wish to excel. Active participation in class discussions is also highly encouraged, if not part of a student’s overall grade. Any student unwilling to invest in their education and future should not attend this college.

With the exception of men, considering Saint Mary's is a woman's college, I don't think that anyone should not attend SMC. It is such an amazing and special place. The campus is beautiful each season of the year, the dorms are so convenient the classes are small, so my professors know my name and my learning potential, you are able to grow intellectually, emotionally, spirtiually, and are able to prepare yourself for your future. Saint Mary's is the perfect college for any young woman.

The type of person who should not attend this school, is a person who does not really care about the future or the people they are around. Most of the people I come across at Saint Mary's are geniuely sincere and are very passionate about the field they are going in.
Lindsay
Anyone can attend Saint Mary's College. Yes, the classes are challenging, but the professors are more than willing to lend a helping hand. As for ethnicites, Saint Mary's is open to anyone and everyone. I would never change that, it makes you a more diverse person to meet and live with people of races other than your own.

I sincerely believe anyone could be happy at Saint Mary's College with a little work. The atmosphere and desire of the administration and faculty for all to attain their goals is quite evident. Also the general warmth of the student body is inviting and inclusive. So I guess the personality having the most difficult transition would be the Southerner raised to be a cheerleader or president of her sorority attending college only to find a husband.
