Housing has a low review specifically due to the fact that there is no housing that I am aware of at RCC. This survey doesn't have an option for information that is unavailable and if a student is uninterested in topics such as sports. There is also far too much generalization. Such as the fact that different professors are more available for discussions with students than other professors. Overall, the professors are not hard to communicate with, though the financial aid department has never been easy to work with. The site has recently had repeated changes to its structure, none of which I would personally call favorable. The school's handling of the pandemic is far from ideal, especially the complete website change and then change back after system failure that set back the financial aid of many students. The school barely recognizes preferred names, and the computer system does not even allow for students to put their preferred name into the system.

I never enjoyed it there, but the academics are ok. When I first showed up, I was super exited because it is a really pretty campus; but once I got used to it, the beauty faded into the background and the hateful attitude of the student body really got me down.

Derik - 12/20/2018

It's OK. The teaching staff are friendly and they seem invested in students' learning. RCC doesn't do much to help students get financial aid. The lack of affordable housing for students is a bit of a drag. The cost of classes is reasonable, the quality of teaching is acceptable and some teachers are particularly gifted at what they do. Overall, RCC is an acceptable place in the area for getting a transfer degree for an Oregon network university.

I think Rogue Community College is a pretty great school! The vast majority of professors I have had are very friendly, the campus is fairly easy to navigate (and beautiful at that), and the advisors are great. They were super helpful when I was signing up for FAFSA! It's also a very central location in town. Overall, great school!

Rogue Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Rogue Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Rogue Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would say, self, don't even worry about the fact that you don't personally know a single person who has graduated from college. There are organizations set up to help first generation college students to succeed. Planning and organization will be important and will help you to have a more enjoyable experience. Plan out your undergraduate schedule of classes as soon as possible. Use the information from the year before, as class times won't change much. Schedule exact times for homework and if you have three hours worth, do it sooner rather than later. Leaving room for emergencies and social events, that just can not be missed, is a huge stress reducer. Know that the grades you get will affect your ability to get scholarships in the future, but if you go to class and do all you're asked to do, you will get good grades. The college experience as a whole is wonderful and not to be missed. There will seldom be a better return on your time. Put in two, four, or six years and make perhaps $50,000 a year or more for life. Bottom line is, just go, time will pass anyway.

  3. What kind of person should attend this school?

Anybody who has a willingness to better them selves and who wants a better their education. I like not having to worry about not being accepted like higher self proclaimed status setting universities and colleges, who pride themselves on status and one a few can if ever make it thier. Rogue Community College, has opened up it's doors to any and all, and that is very nice. Their staff is awesome as well, willing to work with and help even people like me, who are well past school years in order to get a better life.

  9. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

That's a hard question. I've been going to this school for three years and I've had great teachers and been able to fit all the classes I've needed into a reasonable schedule. The cafeteria lunches are not great and they cost alot. That is the only negative thing I can think of.
